Hey all! I have had a chance to browse around the forums a little bit in the past few hours. Seems like a very resourceful place to absorb knowledge tips and tricks.

Anyways, a little about myself and my grow. As the title says, this is my first time growing. I bought a very basic setup from a local shop.

Grow tent - 2 x 2 x 5
Light - 150 Watt HPS 16,000 Lumens. Approx 10-11 inches from plant top.
Tempature - 25-33 degrees
Humidity - Gauge quit working properly, was between 55-60%
Water- 100% distilled
Soil - Pro Mix
Nutrients - Jurassic

Started 4 seeds on June 3, JointDoctors Feminised Easyryder. Planted the germinated seeds in 1.5 gallon pots. I know that is not optimal size for highest yeild but in my small work space this was what I decided would be a good learning curve. Which is what it's all about.

I gave them their first feeding today with a 1/4 dose of nutrients. Using a 12-60-0 Veg booster and 12-0-0 Cal Mag.

Lights are on a timer using a 20-4 cycle.

ANY and ALL criticism/help is greatly appreciated. I know theres a lot of things I need to learn but it seems like I came to the right place.

Cheers!

UPDATE: DAY 20

These things are really starting to explode. Little white hairs popping out of all sorts of places.

UPDATE: DAY 18

Today I added a 4" inline fan carbon filter combo. I now have a proper intake/outake exhaust system set up. Decided it was a good time because today I also found what I believe is the begining stages of flowering. Correct me if I am wrong please.

Welcome Kilebee nice looking seedlings

Sounds like a good starting point for a beginner. Nothing to fancy and an amount of plants a beginner could handle. The only advice I would give you is I would have not fed them seedlings a veg booster at 7 days old with just their first set of single bladed leaves. I would have held off another week. Other then the slightly early feedings it sounds like you have the plan and it's in motion. Some green female growing karma your way bro :wiz: may they grow into some big healthy ladies
For you.

Welcome to the site man! You should learn a lot and here and love it. Sounds like a pretty good simple setup, good idea. I agree with Captain on the early feed. Especially not a ratio like that. You need more Nitrogen than Phosphorus and Potassium. Good luck dude!

Ahhh, another budding new grower, welcome to the AFN and be sure to read all the guides and stickies that have been posted to help make your grow just that much more successful. It seems like yesterday that I made a post very similar to yours, and here it is 3 months and 3 days later, I have my first grow in jars, and just that much more experience underneath my belt. Take the advice of our senior grow personnel to heart and always try to keep it simple. LESS IS MORE, when dealing with autos. Good luck to you and your grow man! (or woman):howdy:

Welcome to AFN and the New Growers forum. I also agree on not feeding them early. Pro Mix has some starter nutrients in it, usually enough for about the first two weeks. I also don't think you don't need the cal/mag at this point. Usually if it's needed at all, it won't be until they are in flower, around week 6 or so.

91 degrees is too hot for growing weed. You don't mention if you have a ventilation fan in your tent. If not, you'll need to get one. You want to keep your temps below 85, with 80 being ideal. I would also recommend a carbon filter to control the odors.

Also, your seedlings look a little tall and spindly. You may need to lower your light a bit to keep your node spacing at around 1".

One other thing, 150 watts is kind of low for that size tent and the number of plants you're growing. You may want to think about upgrading to a 250 watter or adding some CFLs to supplement the 150 watter.

Thanks for the advice! I do plan on doing something about the odor aswell as the tempature. I do have a ventillation fan going out but not in. I will look into getting some more lights as I go, when I bought the tent I was informed it was plenty for such a small area. What would you suggest as far as CFL's?

Anyways, I added 4 new pictures to my original post. They are on day 12 now and all appear to be looking very healthy. Also, I was following a feeding guide on the nutrients I have. That's the only reason I fed them so early. What would you suggest next as a mealplan for the little fellas?

Welcome to AFN Kilebee... You'll find this a very friendly & helpful site. Whatever Muddy, JM, Jackal or Squid or any of those cats tell you, you can be sure they won't be far wrong.
I can't give you any advice really bro coz I'm still wet behind the ears at this lark myself, I'm in DWC as well so I'm not much use to you, but I wish you well & I'll keep looking in on you to see how things are progressing...

All the best & here have some of that :wiz:

Kush :peace:

Updated my original post with some new pictures. I hate having to scroll through 10 pages to read a journal so I won't make you do that.

Anyways, I added a 4" inline fan/carbon filter today after I noticed some flowering starting. My tent is now properly fitted with a intake/outtake exahaust system. Tempatures are around 27-28 degree's. Which is pretty good because the last two days have been really hot outside. My humidity is at 42 now. It's day 19 and the little tree's are strong and bushy. Except for one straggler that is. He is keeping up with branch and leaf count but overall size is smaller.

Can anyone give me an opinion on what kind of CFL's I should be looking to add?
