OK so this will be my first time growing so I thought I would give autoflowers a try first. I'm going to be building my own grow room in a 5x5 space. Now my question is I want to buy this system http://www.supercloset.com/index.php?c=product&m=index&d=36 my concern is, is that its a 2" net cup and I would like to know if I can grow a full cycle of auto in there without having to switch to bigger net cups? I already have 10 auto bio-diesel mass seeds. I don't want to throw away $300 if this isnt what I need. Thank you in advance for all the help.

yes you can get better results with hydro, but the down side is if your electric goes out your plants all die. then theres the problem of getting rid of the chemicals after your done with them. my advice use happy frog soil and earth juice nutes. way, way cheaper than buying a hydro setup. and way less complicated. as a new grower your gonna have problems with ppm, ph and other things. but if your stuck on hydro then i hope you get it down and grow some killer.

Welcome to the forum. That system looks like it would be fine to grow autos in. I have to say, undertaking a hydro grow as your first is pretty ambitious. Most new growers start out in soil, learn how to grow, then move on to more advanced techniques and systems. Hydro can be a challenge even to experienced growers. Many more variables to contend with, and if something goes wrong, it usually goes wrong fast. Soil is more forgiving, you've got more time to correct any problems that may come up, and they will.

What kind of lighting are you planning on?

I really appreciate the suggestions but yes I am stuck on hydro I've been reading about hydro for the last 3 years and very excited about it. I know mistakes and problem will occur but you learn from your mistakes which I am willing to do. So to clarify I will be able to grow a full cycle of autos in this 2" net cup with no problems as far as that? And I will be using 400 watt mh during veg and 400 watts hps when I start the nutrients on a flowering cycle (nut wise) my light cycle is gonna be 18/6 the whole way. If I should stay on mh please let me know I appreciate all the help!

Sounds good with the lighting. Welcome to the forum myrakle.

thanks for the welcome but I don't want to sound repetitive can you please confirm that system can grow the whole cycle? Im just amazed that if it can it can do it in a 2" net cup.

don't know about the cup. but i would defiantly use the MH for veg and HPS for flowering. there are lots of hydro growers to help you.

That's a pretty small system for 16 auto plants. How many were you thinking of putting in there?

If you buy a good HPS bulb with an expanded blue spectrum you can grow full cycle with the same bulb. Given the size of that setup, have you thought about LEDs? A lot less heat than HPS. A 400 watt HPS can get quite hot in a small area. Proper ventilation is needed.

OK well tomorrow I'm going to purchase the system while I wait for the system I will be in the process of constructing my grow room when the system gets in I will start a journal here and post pics and keep all of you updated. In the mean time feel free to keep dropping suggestions. Thank you!

i have a 400w with a med size hood. i need a bigger hood and 600w bulb. i would say 16 is the max for a 400w system. and a ventilated hood and temp/humidity controller for room venting are a must.
