So I started my first ever grow on March 21. Growing one Amnesia Haze Auto from ILGM. Growing organic in soil with just water. Using Kind soil and FFOF. Seeds sprouted on 3/24 in peat pellet transplanted into 5gal fabric pot on 3/25. Watering with Brita filtered water PH'd to 6.5-7.0. Temp range is 66* at night and 77-81* during day. Watering from bottom of pot (capillary), with some water through top of soil when soil gets very dry with no water to runoff (not recommended by Kind soil). Watering every two to four days as needed. Growing in an Apollo 4x4x7 tent with one Budgetled 250 R-Spec light I also have two amazon blurples that I don't use due to heat issues. I also have a Vivosun 6" inline fan with charcoal filter and two clip fans for air movement along with a ceiling fan. I have not been able to close the tent due to heat issues. I've tried just about everything to manage temp but it seems just leaving the tent open has been the best method. The room the tent is in is farthest from the A/C unit in my house and the ducts run through the attic I'm in TX so this room doesn't cool down as much as the rest of the house. I FIM'd the plant on 4/11 and started LST on 4/12. As of today I did a defoliation to get more light penetration through the canopy. Just looking for any help/information that more experienced growers have to offer. Pics included. Let me know what you think.

For a first grow, she is looking really good and healthy. You'll be hitting harvest before you know it. Lots o' luck the rest of the way.

Thanks for the encouragement. I had no idea what I was doing. Just learning from forums and videos.

What do you think of kind soil? Setting up my first grow and it's on my short list of super soils.

So far it's doing what they stated. I've heard of other people having problems finishing their plants with Kind Soil. I don't know that I would try it with photos but so far no issues. I did get a little nute burn when the roots got into the FFOF but no further issues. I also had a PH issue due to a faulty pen. I have been doing exactly what Kind recommends for using their soil which is using charcoal filtered water PH'd 6.5-7.1 and only watering enough to give the pot some weight. Kind says not to water to runoff or add any nutrients. Also keep in mind this is my very first grow so I don't have any other growing method to gauge against. I did do a soil slurry PH test today just to see and the PH came in at 6.0 on the nose so I'm assuming all is good for now. I figure she probably has another seven weeks or so to go she started flowering at week 5 which was last Saturday. If this method takes me to the end I'll probably do it again because it's so simple. Oh and as far as lowering PH I've been using fresh lemon juice Kind does not recommend PH up or down to adjust and I didn't feel like buying the crystal citric acid that they recommend. Not seeing any negative to the lemon juice I figured it's natural so why not.

Thank you! The kind soil company isn't far from me. I like supporting local when I can. Especially during this quarantine. I think I'm going to go with Coco Loco for the potting soil or the ffof. It will be my first grow too so it's great to read your experience. Thank you for sharing it!

I have my grow posted on another forum (ILGM) along with someone else who is going the Kind route. He's using Coco Loco in his grow and it seems to be doing fine. The only negative I've heard about Coco Loco is it doesn't retain water that well so you'll need to be watering more often. I started my plant in a peat pellet then set up the 5gal pot with Kind and FFOF using a solo cup to make a place in the center for some Miracle grow organic and plant the pellet into that to buffer it from the FFOF. Currently watering about a third of a gal every two to three days. Hope this helps and good luck with your grow! Post it up when you get it going so we can all learn.
