Grow Room First PC grow: Russian Rocket Fuel (rebooted)

next time, i am presoaking it for a month in water ph'ed down with a hint of muriatic. i dont have time for this kind of problem lol

Well, this is now just a science experiment because I am 9 days in and the ph in the coco is not where i would like it to be. 1 plant has responded fairly well to the correction and the other is so locked out that its probably going to die unless i take immediate action and transplant. so, i have mixed up some new coco that was presoaked with very acidic distilled water. i ph stick is reading a 6, with all the nutes i will wind up putting in that coco eventually this is where i am going to leave it so i can have a swinging range of around 5.5 to 6.2 and not worry about exacting precision. the skin on my hands is so soft now from all the acid lol. a real mans moisturizer.

in about 3 hours, these sprouts are going to be transplanted with as little medium from the current containers as possible. I hate doing this mid grow with auto's but i think it would almost certainly kill one sprout and seriously stunt the other if i left them be at this point. i am going to look at this in as positive of a light as possible. my case is not biggest full ATX case i have seen grown in and these things are showing a propensity for sativa dominance so, perhaps i will have a bit easier time managing their height without having to super crop them.

oh well!

I have never seen such piss poor root development as I did today. I transplanted them about 20 minutes ago. Their root systems were smaller than a golf ball in size. The PH sure did a number on their development. Both have been moved into 100% coco with a PH of 5.9. I have a feeling that the wetter I can keep this stuff the more reliable the PH will be. I would not be surprised if my yield this grow is less than an ounce dry at this point. The good news is that they certainly won't over whelm my case. =P

Much luck and karma for the little ladies ....i seen sucees after a transplant on my first grow ...had a stoopid low ph everywash out 12 days got transplanted and yes it affected them but they still grew something mm..

Much luck bro

Thanks Swampman, I am going to need it.

I had a similiar thing happen this summer. The plant i harvested for my seed run was sprouted in some burpee organic coco blend. it wound up having a ph well into the upper 7's and had to be transplanted into soil. the female that i had from that run wound up being about 3/4ths ounce dry. this includes seed weight though. i moved them outside when i transplanted them too. i bet if they had been running 20/4 indoors post transplant i would of harvested over an ounce.

oddly enough i have expanded coco in distilled for photo runs and run a 6.5 ph from start and had nearly zero issues. i think autos are much less forgiving when it comes to soil conditions.

Since some of my ladies are a blend of coco and the roots green fields bro I've read that when using coco around 21 days its good to give it a good rinse ....not like a flush but to clean up the root zone ..coc tends to build up salts ...i don't know a whole lot but I have given the ladies a good rjnce and then feed between heavy feedings ..
Like today I had fed mostly N and some bloom ...
Today I gave them a good fresh taste of aqua and then a couple hours later gave them a feed at 1 cup to my 44oz ...
Also watering alot at once doesn't always work with coco ...let some water go in and wait let it slowly move down and then add more ...to me u get a even distribute and not just rolling off the coco

When u just dump it will past the coco by and I think that's when u wash high in Ph ...
Just my 2 cents but it's what's happening here ..

Now that I'm feeding plain water between them I get a better read as well ...as Nutes charge it differently. ...

just dropped the probe into the coco and it was at 6.7 again. this is absolutely ridiculous! at this point, i am just going to let the cards lay where they fall. if either of them survives the next few days, they will have earned the right to flower. otherwise, i will just have to put the remainder of this contaminated happy frog in the oven and bake it for a couple hours.

Don't bake it do u have a bug soap .....i would suggest just wash the dirt with mosquito dunks or like
What's it contaminated with btw ???
