Hi guys,

I'm brand new to growing. I diligent research anything I do and usually with good success.

Here's the setup:

100cm x 100cm x 200cm 600d Mylar reflective grow tent
1x 600watt HPS Lumii Black
2x rachet ropes
1x 4" extractor kit inline with Ox Carbon filter
4x 20L Airpots
2x 50L Canna Coco Professional

How does this setup sound? Have I missed anything?

Next onto which auto seeds to buy for the given setup? I prefer Indica biase with knockout power and pain relief. Night smokes. Want good yield (who doesn't?!). I have some concerns over smell and whether the above setup will neutralise the odours if going for some of the more smelly strands. White Widow XXL seems appealing on the face of it if smell isn't an issue.

Then how many plants in the given space is ideal? I have plenty of time to dedicate. Ideally I would want a couple of different types of plants but am concerned that they will grow at different rates whilst I am trying to keep smell contained within one tent for everything (drying, curing etc).

Am in the UK, typical room temp 20deg C.

Thanks for taking the time with a newbie!

4 is going to be crowded so go with smaller plants. Pick a decent 1m plant and off you go. You will need your EC meter and pH meter. Nutes, patience and some clip on fans.

I'm with the milky bar kid, 4 of most strains would be crowded altho possible if you wanted to put the effort into a lot of tieing or jungle tent ;) . You could also go for just 1 plant with some of the bigger strains but I have OCD so 1 I would worry too much that it wouldn't be enough, so would be 2 or 4 because 3 is a triangle and we don't want the illuminate anywhere near our plants :pass:

Btw, welcome to AFN! :welcome:
4 could work as long as you don't top or pick a bushy strain! You will also need temp/humidity meter! :headbang:

Hey @Borris Jointston and welcome to AFN

looks like you got the lot, you may need a 2 to 3 oscillating fans to move the air around... not really herd of Ox filters, keep and eye on it or should I say a nose... I'm UK as well and when it come to security smell is the most important and no.1 in my books for not getting caught... I use Rhino pro filters and inline Phesh filters, both tried and tested to work spot on... when it come to this biz the more you pay the better the gear, especially filters... so keep a good nose on it when they come into flower.

as long as that filter is up to it I wouldn't worry to much about smell...quick tip... get a speed controller for your extraction fan, you can dial it down so the air moves though the filter slower and get completely scrubbed... most smell leaks are old filters or the fan being a over rated for the filter... the trick is to over rate the filter to the fan, example a 5" on a 4" fan to be safe.

In that space I would go with 4 plants and get that all important yield your after for that first grow, then maybe do 3 on the second and compare your results... Auto's do like a little space to spread out you may find that 3 works out better than 4, less fluffy buds and more light penetration.

If you need any help just tag me (@Slater) always willing got give a hand :pass:

Appreciated. EC and PH meters orders.

Will research best nutes.

Clip on fans seem like a minefield with many not even lasting a whole grow?

Haha, yeah, I'm all about yield. If less plants can provide then I'm happy with less plants.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Filters were from a local grow shop (bricks and morter) that put them in all their main kits. Should be okay, if not will order some that you mention overnight.

4 normal sized or 4 XXL?

Will look into a speed controller, feature creep is setting in a setup costs of £300 are near

I bought cheap one from eBay , works fine. Wilko and B&M sell them too.
