Dang granny looks like you've got two green thumbs! The big sister looks great keep up the good work.

Oh wow! well thank you! Yeah, I mean I just read, follow what is said here and different places, so have to give credit to others. Big sister measured 20 inches tonight, little sister is 8, so she hasn't given up by any means. This Saturday will be the end of week 6. Tonight I changed 2 of the 4 bulbs with bloom lights, and Saturday I will flush and change nute water with 1 teas grow and 1 teas bloom. 2 teas is half of what is called for, so I am sticking to that. My question is do I go with full bloom nutes, or stick with 1/2 and 1/2 for a week? A couple weeks? I would say growth has slowed from an inch a day to about 3/4" a day. But is still growing...good grief, I should have bought the 8 bulb due to the fact that I am having a difficult time keeping this bush all under the lights! Anyway, yes, something is working really well, but really thanks goes to you all.:jump:

I would stick with 1/2 and 1/2 for another week if they are still growing vertically then switch. Keep up the good work.

If she's outgrowing your space I'd switch over to full bloom nutes to try and slow down the veg growth a bit. It's tapering off and most likely will stop in a couple days anyway.

I agree, Muddy. Although I would like to see them grow more, BS is 21" as of this morning, and tomorrow is the end of week 6. Time to go to full bloom. I am able to keep the root temp at 69 to 70 F. Am using the blue ice packs at all times,. This is better than 80 F, which it was for a long time. I have had some of the lower fan leaves go brown, kind of curl. Not many, could this be due to weeks ago when I thought I over nuted? Or is this normal for lower leaves to die in this way? I have been searching for some pics here, are there some of the transition time, and how the lower fan leaves should look?

If they are some of the early leaves near the bottom, close in to the main stalk, they often get shaded as the plant grows and eventually die off. Judging from your pictures from earlier in the week they look fine. Just keep an eye on them and if you start seeing any discoloration on other leaves, then there might be an issue.

OK, good. Yeah, just some very bottom areas, all others middle and top look very good. Nice and healthy. Ok then no more worry. So many posts say theirs turn yellow in some cases, these were actually brown on edges and became weak and I removed. Just about 5 I believe over the last 8 or 9 days. Thanks, I will continue on.

WOW girl looks like your on a roll now... great advice your getting and the girls look great... gotta give you some +reps for taking on a DWC grow and with autos for your first grow... keep on keepin on.

Day 46 27"

View attachment 108755View attachment 108756Ok, so today, the 24th July I took a photo of how I am cooling the root zone. Have been able to keep root zone at 65 to 70 degrees, which is big improvement as it was 80 degrees. Is a bit of a low tech, redneck way of doing it, but it works. Also, I had used 1/2 grow and 1/2 bloom all last week, then this last Saturday I flushed and have only bloom nutes going now. Also I have two air stones running, pump unplugged to keep heat down, and when I change nutes, I add 2.5 teaspoons of 3% hydrogen peroxide per gallon. Have 2 gallons in hydro at all times. Seems to be working. Today she measures 27". I have enough blue ice things to rotate about every 5 hours, then they have to wait 8 hours while I am at work, then I change out the ice. If you need to cool your root zone, and have no other choice, this does work! Also, don't know if this has anything to do with helping her grow, but I leave on classical music at all times in the same room with her.

Has been some time since I updated, had a bit of a predicament. Plant just would not stop growing, so I called the friend who gifted me the seeds and his reply to my growth problem was "Oh, so your the one who got those seeds?" Apparently another of his friends had called him and asked why his plant was so small. So he mixed up the seeds, I got the traditional, other person got my auto.

What I then decided to do may have gone against advice, but I have limited space including head room, so I removed all lower growth to kind of shock the plant and to give the largest bud areas the greatest chance of budding. It kept growing, but finally stopped shortly after that. Is actually budding fairly nicely, but is lighting I think that is the big issue I think. The little sister, an actual auto, is alive, but with so little light, she is just not really doing much other than surviving. I will include pics so you can see what I mean. The basket to keep the root system cooled really has worked out well. I change out the blue ice 2 to 3 times a day, and is much better than doing nothing.

Today is day 79 for both, so my biggest frustration is not having anything for myself to use, which was the whole purpose. (taking foreverrrr) But, I have some Critical Rapido waiting to be started (actual and real auto) once I can free up this current project. Has been a great learning project, I have no regret...just wanted some buds for me to enjoy. Any thoughts or advice to speed up and finish this project would be much appreciated!
