Hey guys, first time growing here in Aus and I'm really excited to track my progress here with photos and see how I can tweak and improve my methods.

I have two seeds germinating right now and one still left in storage in case anything goes irreversibly wrong lol..

I'm trying to be cost effective and utilise natural light, so my plants are outdoors in a greenhouse now. Started in Jiffy windowsill greenhouse in natural light indoors. I have a small lamp for night time at the moment and am a total noob when it comes to lighting options which will be my next stop on here

Day 1

Seeds go into the Jiffy pellets, placed indoors in a windowsill (moved with the sun) for the first 24 hours

Day 2

No changes, seeds moved with natural light throughout the day and I used my small lamp overnight

Day 3

No changes, same as day 3. Seeds moved to lamp earlier due to cloudy weather

Day 4

I was getting anxious to see if the seeds had cracked so I decided to gently move the top soil above and around the seeds and was excited to find they have popped !

I mixed my own soil mix from scratch to transport them into the final pot to ensure I wouldn't have to disrupt the seed again during germination (trying to be delicate!)
I got a lot of mixed recipes for good auto soil but decided to go with the following ;
- 3 parts organic compost manure mix
- 2 parts peat moss
- 2 parts perlite
- 1 part vermiculite
- 1 park coco

Day 5 - both seeds are in their soil and popping up slowly!
No other changes today but excited to see them making progress in final pots...:cooldance:

Day 7 - so my seedlings have stalled a little with limited to no movement. I did some tinkering and decided the soil was far too dense with the compost manure so I've remade a new mix which is already draining significantly better than the last.
New mix is
2 parts coco
2 parts peat moss
1 part perlite
1 part vermiculite

I've moved my bigger seedling into this pot. The other I had was much smaller so I've isolated it to give some TLC and encourage a bit more growth before it goes in the pot.

The stronger seedling is currently sitting in the nice natural sunlight.. I've been looking at grow tent options as the weather in my part of the world tends to be unpredictable (or just too bloody hot!!) Weighing up my options for outdoor alternatives when it comes to Winter, harsh hot summer days, or whatever elements outside I want to be able to always control when Im at work and not home to monitor.
