Tuesday update!
Nothing huge to report today, outdoor girls are enjoying this 90ish degree day and a whole lot of sunshine. Their aroma is a slap in the face when you step out onto the balcony. They may be little but they are LOUD. I know they're all still a good bit from finished but I finally gave in to the temptation and pulled two tiny tester buds off the bottom branch of the WWxBB. From reading @420Forever's grow journal for Janis I'm expecting racy af if anything. She smells mouth watering though.

Anyhow, on to the fun bit!

growing can be very addictive. I buy loads and loads of fastbuds, all varieties.

I'm like you into that I love training. And I can't seem to resist that with autos. I've read about using tape to fix breakage, and I've done quite a bit of that. I have a damaged wrist due to a vehicle accident a decade ago and frequently have to wrap my wrist with fabric athletic or tennis tape. So I've always got some around.

I really like manifolding and am usually shooting for 16 colas, though I'm learning that it's maybe better to hold things to 8. Sometimes after manifolding I need to move things around to keep them level, or after the plant reaches a certain size I decide I want to pull branches out to the side for a wider plant. But by then the branches are woody and smashing them with my fingers doesn't make them flexible enough.

Long story short (who am I kidding?), I can usually tell now when bending a branch is a bad idea but some branches MUST be bent. I found that pre-wrapping the branch with athletic tape keeps it from breaking. At least for me. Even if it does break, it breaks in micro cracks that easily heal. So now I'm really fond of my method.

If you're worried about strangling the branch, don't. I haven't had that problem yet. I usually forget to remove the tape until harvest, and haven't yet noticed any strangling or bark damage. However, athletic tape uses a water-based glue. It's really annoying if you've ever used it and had to reapply after washing your hands and getting it wet. So to always safely remove the tape after it's no longer needed, just spritz it with water and wait a few minutes. It'll come right off.
