New Grower First Grow - July 2021 Run

Clearly I've been slacking, but to be fair the last two days have been abnormally busy. Yesterday I came outside to find two of the three remaining girls had been beaten up by the wind, the Auto Kush was all but laid flat and the Somango had some major lean going on. I did lose a little 5g branch off the Somango, so I hung that up to dry just for fun, even though its no where near ready. Critical didn't seem to mind the wind though being that she's so short so that was good at least. Got to go check the girls cause its that time so keeping it brief. Three girls outside got the week 11 feeding schedule yesterday, a gallon split between them. I'll probably feed the indoor girls today. Need to bump the thermostat up in the house I think as the tent is running at 70F during the day and low 60s at night, which is fine for the girls but not great for the newbies to germ. Anyways.

Going to give the tent girls week 9 of the schedule when I get back from picking the kids up from school. Otherwise, nothing really to report. Somango and Kush are still looking rather sad from yesterday, but I figure they'll perk back up once the sun finally comes back out. I did move the Motor Punch to the front and the Purple Cookies to the back today, but that was after I took pictures lol.

I knew I should have checked my journal before I fed today lmao. I ended up feeding the tent girls week 8 again instead of week 9. Oh well, not too too worried about it. Got back from dance last night to find the Somango was almost completely horizontal. Tried to get her propped up as best as I could for the night, but she's now lost another branch, this one was 9g. Again I'm drying for S&G, but I'll probably only smoke like one bowl of it out of curiosity and then toss the rest in the trim bag in the freezer. No decent way to brace her at this point, so I switched things up a bit today.

A bit of weirdness going on with her leaves, since I don't take her out often and she's been in the back it may have been going for a bit without me realizing. She's been under the fan since she was potted up so not sure if it has to do with that, or maybe due to foliar feeding? But she's the only one doing it, so if it were the foliar I would think they would all be affected. Looking at the deficiency chart I'm wondering if it may be either P or Ca related? I kind of just assumed the red stems were due to the Purple Punch lineage, but again I could be wrong. Probably should tag in @Mañ'O'Green on this one lol.

So, like I said I had to swap things around a bit in order to account for the wind issues with the outdoor girls. Sooo, the tent girls have been moved outside, and now we have this. Had to jack the lights all the way up to the very top of the tent, which is tight with how things are set up in there lol. I couldn't find any instructions on how to actually put the carbon filter up in the tent so its kind of a MacGyver deal at the moment. I've since found actual examples of how it should be affixed, so I'll have it up there correctly for next run, though I am debating having it on the exhaust end outside of the tent instead of the intake side, but I'm not sure how well that would work. Regardless, very tight squeeze up there at the moment. Hopefully the photo girls will do OK outside. I figure they are early enough in flower that they should be ok out there for the next 2-3 weeks while the autos finish up, and then they can go back in the tent. They'll probably be happy to not be squeezed in so tight anyways, and I since we are at 12 hours of light outside I'm hoping they won't be too terribly stressed with the move.

Ended up having to put the Critical on top of a few gallon paint cans to try to bring them up closer to the light since shes so much shorter than her sisters.

Hoping the Somango and Kush aren't *too* close to the lights, since I literally cannot raise them up any further than they are. I feel like I'd rather risk light burn over losing more branches or even my main colas though.

Any worries I may have had about the tent girls protesting their move outside seem to be dispelled, as they all seem very happy on the balcony now. They're early enough into flowering that I do think they should be fine from a potential rot perspective. They actually look to have shot up a bit since they went out, though it may just be due to a change in perspective. I suppose I'll find out in earnest once the girls in the tent finish up and they can be moved back inside. I'll be hitting them with week 9 of the feeding chart today, since I messed up and gave them an extra round of week 8 last time. The humidity outside is higher than what they had in the tent but its also substantially hotter, so it appears that they are drinking much quicker now than they had been.

The autos in the tent will be getting week 12 of the chart from here on out as they continue to creep towards the finish line. They do seem to be quite happy with the extra light though, the Kush in particular seems to have really started bulking up. Per breeder specs it looks like they should have another 2-3 weeks to go, though we will see if that holds true. Did fins a few spots of rot on the Critical when I dug around in her buds. Its been removed but I'm hoping she will be finished sooner than later at this point.

Took a few hits off the stuff that fell off the Somango yesterday but I didn't feel much of anything and it tasted like ass, much fun. May have just been cause I only took the two hits, or because I was so amped up and overall busy that I just didn't notice. They all definitely need a good bit more time though. All super sticky but my quick trich checks have still shown them to be super immature.
