New Grower First grow in over a decade. Second indoor. Humboldt Blue Dream Auto

Week six from seed. I had a bit of leaf tip burn. First I thought the light was too close so I raised it and still had new shoots with while tips. So I backed down on the cal mag and Flora Grow a mill and she is looking good. She has a slow pistil development and is about three weeks behind the Durban Poisons planted on the same day. She is short but has a huge number of side branches as if I topped her twice. It may be a good thing that she is a couple of weeks behind the Durban's because I think I will need the room to finish her. Here is a few pictures the Durban'

There you go, super healthy plants and the DP will be a great bushy canna plant, someone who can grow.

At the end of week seven the Humboldt auto Blue dream hit her preflower stretch mode. Putting on oven 8 inches. She is green and lush and enjoys a good feeding twice a day. The two Durban autos I have with her are about four to two weeks ahead of her. So I am concentrating most of the light on them. So I can finish them and have at least three weeks to finish the Blue Dream alone with all of the light. I think she will need the room. She is 28" tall and 25" wide. With a 36"x36" tent. And she has not begun to flower yet and start her flowering stretch. Her side branching is good and stretch out so there is little need for leaf tucking. Here are a few pics of her.

Subbed. I just made an account on this forum because I am starting my first auto grow and I just so happen to be starting with a Humboldt blue dream auto as well. I just dropped the seed last night to germ and I may get a journal going myself once I’ve got something above ground. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out!

We are on the 8th week and the lady has not shown any flowers. I think someone sent me a photo period seed by mistake. The two Durban Poisons that popped at the same time are three to four weeks from finishing. She has reached the same height as the Durban's and continues to put on an inch or over a day. I have a 36"x36"x72" tent. And with pot she 42" high now. That leaves me with about 18" of head room if the light is mounted directly to the hanging bar. I am eyeing my options on having a photo in a auto tent. The main stem is no longer soft and tying it down would take a week doing it slowly so not to snap it. It is to woody to pinch it far enough down to give me the head room to finish her. Or I can lop off a foot of the top and LST the remaining branches. I have done that many times on outdoor grows to keep plants even with fence lines or shrubs. But I still have to wait three or four weeks for the Durban's to finish before I can finish the Blue Dream on 12/12. I will not sacrifice quality and yield on two Durban's to finish a Blue Dream. And then it will take 9 to 10 weeks of 12/12 to finish the Blue Dream. Or a whole auto cycle with four plants. I might have a space I can finish the Blue Dream but not the light. I see that Cree has 19 watt flood bulbs at 3000k. Has anyone tried these? Or knows someone that has? At $12 and some change at a big box store they are affordable. A figure 3 would work to finish my fat lady with a 96" headroom. I have already notified the seedbank where I got her from. And their response will determine my own.

Which seed bank was that if you don’t mind me asking? Sorry if you’ve already told us that I went back to the first post and didn’t see it. I got mine as a freebie with an order from attitude and I’m gonna be super bummed out if it doesn’t auto. I guess I could just stick the thing outdoors but I doubt a photo blue dream would finish in time out doors and it would be a shame to watch her grow all summer just to not even make it to the finish line.

Mary's seeds in the UK. I know that Humboldt has their own seed production in house. Unlike many breeders whom farm out seed production to other growers. I am awaiting a reply from Mary's to see if they have had problems with others from the same batch. It may be that the order filler just had a few hits before he went to the fridge to get my seed. I will get back when I get some more info. Take care.

Mary Seeds said that the seed sent to me as a freebie Was not from Humboldt Seed Company. That it came from an another seed propagator. And they are sending me a few promotional seeds for my time and trouble. Great people with quick responses.
OK we are entering week nine with still no sign of flowering. She has always been the runt of the garden but now is a couple of inches taller than her Durban Poison sisters at forty two inches and still growing. I am preparing a space to move her out of the 72" tent to a room with 96' of headroom. I will then put her on 12/12 if she has not shown signs of auto flowering by then. She has hundreds of pistils so when she does finish she should have a great yield. I will not have the space ready for at least a week. So we will see.

Well the girl is ten weeks old today with no sign of flowers. She will move to a new temporary home for four weeks this weekend. When I move her she will get a haircut. With about a foot and a half off of the main stem. She is at forty five inches now. And three or four nodes off of the upper side branches, two or three nodes off of the side branches below them and one or two nodes below them. Then veg her for four more weeks. Return her to the tent, tie the side branches down and put her on 12/12. That is the plan now but now and then is at least five days away. The Durban's that popped at the same time will be done in three weeks. And I will need the tent for a few days so to dry them. I am not sure if I should continue this thread here. Or move it to the photo threads. Any admin handy?
