Durban Poison
Hello I am not new to cultivating Cannabis. I've been doing it since the late sixties in gorilla grows. But took over a decade off due to legal and security concerns.
In this post I will report on a Humboldt Seed Co. Blue Dream auto. I have a couple of Durban Poisons in the tent. But I need a strain for days when I need to do things and remember what I am doing.
I started her in a 5" peat pot with coco. She took 3 days to pop using gassed off tap water without PH adjustment. Buying water or a RO system and then buying nutrients to replace the micro nutrients like Magnesium, Calcium and Iron that you removed from the water makes little sense to me. Just gas off the chlorine in tap water by letting it sit in an open container for at least 24 hours, adjust the PH and you are good to grow.
The first pic will be at the end of week one.

Second up is the end of week two. I started Flora base nutrients here with Cali Magic. Feeding a table spoon four times a day. On a 20/4 light schedule using a 25w daylight LED spot. The Blue Dream auto is the little girl in back.

Week three I acquired a generic 215w Epistar LED. They did not bother putting a name in the light or directions. But it is working for me so far. We will see how it flowers. I also transplanted the ladies into three gallon squat Ultra Oxy pots. These pots are eight inches high and thirteen inches wide. I have always like squat pots because I believe the allow the upper air roots to breath better. Bumped the feeding up to a couple of tablespoons four times a day. No runoff.

Here is a couple of pictures at the end of week three.

At the end of week four the girls roots have penetrated the peat pot and are exploding in growth. I did not want to use the peat pots but my only alternative was five gallon root bags so to germinate directly in the pot. I've seen no problems from transplanting the peat pots into coco. I have upped the feeding to a half cup four times a day. I also rotate the pot a quarter turn at each feeding. Just to make sure the entire plant gets even light.

I just watered outside the peat pots so to bring the roots through it. Next up a couple of pics at the end of week four since germinating.

I am at the end of week five with my HSC Blue Dream auto. She was a freebie from Mary's seeds in the UK.
She just started showing pistils today. She is 11" tall and about 14" wide. A bushy girl with prolific side branching. She already has that green odor and odor control is already needed in my apartment.
I have a couple of pics on her fifth

Sorry I have not figured out how to rotate the picture. So next week I will not rotate the camera. I have dozens of outdoor gorilla and corn field grows from the late sixties until the nineties. And one indoor organic HPS grow in the late nineties. This is my first grow since. First with coco, automatics, store bought nutrients, LED and tent grow. More familiar with growing trees where the main problems are deer, bear, hogs, coons, skunks and possums along with hunters in the fall. It is a whole new ballgame so bear with me. Thanks

Right after these pics I started having cal/mag problems. CaliMagic feed chart says 2.5 ml per gal. in late veg. I was there. Them as she was starting to stretch I developed the C/M problem. I bumped up the dose to 3 ml. and waited a day without results. Kept bumping it up to finally settling out at 5 ml per gallon and she is back to green. At day 37 she is just starting to show pistils. Two Durban Poisons I ran at the same time are in their second week of flowering. She is defiantly growing like an Indica but taking her time like a Sativa.

Good you're back in growing meds, plants look good, curious how the DP turns out.
