hi I am new to this forum and am new to growing I have read a lot of articles and a lot of posts on here I jus would like to know how I am doing anxiety is through the roof on 1st grow

I am growing 5 autos 4 fast buds and one dinafem 21 days old germinated straight into growing medium

Grown in ff happy frog and ffof mix I ran out of soil so the one plant is a little low

Light 1000w air cooled mh for first 21 days then
1000w hps

20 /4 light schedule

Roots organic master pack nutrients I'm following the master feeding schedule I gave first nutrients when plants were 2 weeks old

My question is how do these look for 21 days old should I have switched to hps this early and what changes would u guys make does it look like I'm overwatering I usually wait till it's almost dry then I water but I feel like my plants could look better

The soil needs to be dry before watering again so the roots get their oxygen and go deeper into the soil. Only thing I would have done differently is add more dirt to those pots you can do it when they get bigger if you want. Good job bro.

I thought about adding more to the pots but didn't know if It would hurt to add it now but I ordered them online and thought they would be smaller so my calculations were way off lol I didn't know u could jus add more thank you !!
And I was jus gonna let them grow I move the leaves with my hands so the new growth can get more light but because the soil is so low in the one I might have to do something I changed to hps today for the first day and they are responding really well a lot of growth jus in the one day I wanted to get them taller they were already kinda bushy but compact now they have more space and are taller

I have now way to test the ph or anything with the water I jus have big totes and I leave the water sitting for a day or 2 before I use it do u think I could run into problems because of this ? Do u think I should be using reverse osmosis water and adding cal mc or something I think that's what I heard or distilled water ? Jus curious about the water I guess

You have to wait until they get taller before you add more soil. For quicker Strains, 3 gal pots are very efficient. They will be fine though and they will grow!

Well take my notes with a grain of salt, I'm 3/4 into my first grow, I've found that ph plays a very important role in your plants health. I was using a general hydroponics test kit with the drops to test ph, but my nutes color the water after adding them so it didn't work for me, you can use the water from the tap if you set it out in an open container 24-48 hours, and even better, pump air into it, I don't know if it matters, but I do it. One more thing, don't give flowering nutes right away, wait until it stretches after you see flowers start, it will stretch taller, wait until the stretch ends, then give flower nutes, otherwise it will stay short. I learned this afterward, and have a 12" bush with 13 colas about an inch and a half around, lol but I am having fun and learning to get better, that's why we're here! Good luck!

You definitely need to be able to check the ph throughout the grow. Ph measuring kits aren't expensive, you should get one as soon as possible.

You should also get a ppm monitor, together with ph, these are things that can kill your plants right under your nose.

Id like to add more soil I was always concerned about that and same with the ph I'd like to monitor it I put almost all my money into this so I don't have a lot of flexibility now to get many more things if any I heard that even when autos start to flower to wait in the nutes because they still have a week or so were they will grow a lot more
