The bloom is on full speed! Not much stretching, just setting blooms. Bringing her up to full nutes and added the Blackstar to the tent. I may do some inner defoliation of the old fans because there are blooms nearly all the way to the mainstem on all the side branches.

Feel free to voice your opinion on this.

Added 10 ml Micro, 20 ml Bloom, 10 ml CaliMagic, as well as the gallon a day of pH'd water she's sucking up. Averaging 100-150 ppm of nutes a day now.

Wow brother, Miz DUBYA is has really turned into a BUSH!

I am going through the learning curve of just what and how to trim photos myself. I am just finishing flowering my first indoor photo grow with many photos. Wow, have I ever been/being schooled on so many levels.

What I have found, is that it is not worth growing those little popcorn buds close to the main stem. Obviously more of the energy goes toward the bigger buds towards the tips. What I have now been doing is to look at the top/sides of the plant and try
to determine where you want the light to fully penetrate, and go to town plucking/cutting the small buds/suckers and even small branches.

There are different opinions on this, but I am one that tries to leave most of the fan leaves on to catch the energy from the light, and tuck when necessary.

Saying all of that, you may just do what you think is best, and leave all of the buds on there and just let her grow out that way, so that you can see for yourself what to do in subsequent grows. For myself I am such a tactile learner that experience is truly my best teacher.

Hope I made some sort of sense here my brother.

Peace!

Hey Bro!

Yeah, I know those inners and lowers aren't gonna be worth much. A lot of the peripheral stems aren't quite catching up to the others and several are worth a little "grooming" to improve them. Initially, it's just the lower main stem fans (3 sets) that are blocking some good top sites that are a bit behind. We've got about 4-5 weeks left still, I think.
:ama:

I plan on doing the harvesters two-step on chop and wait for a second cutting after taking the main chop. A portion of the first and all of the second is going to oil (glycerin) for the e-cig. I'm playing with this one to see if I can improve the buzz. Initially, it was a little too much in my head and not in my body. I'm going to push them long and hard to try and get some more couch-lock out of it. Pull them as they fully amber in staggered chop . A one week flush before the first wack, then 1-2 more weeks (or however much) til the leaves die back for the second.

Waddya think?

Yea, that should work just fine. Like you are thinking, let those trichs amber up real good for your second chop, and you and your couch should be good to go.

Keep us posted, I'm on here more now again, and very interested to see the grows of 'another old dude'.

Peace.

Bushy hell, it's a damn shrubbery!
The harvesting plan sounds good. Bet you'll get a great yield.
I am paying attention, it's time to make some of these decisions myself. Trim, prune, tie back...

First thing, Thanks for the reps, guys!!!

Holy Smokes has she grown (...some more!)!

Gonna have to pick up the CalMag a bit and the pH to 5.9 or so. Otherwise going to end up with mag lockout. Another 150 ppm of nutes gone and the pH keeps heading for the dirt. Keep adding pH up, but she's sucking up anything calcium based. I've been using straight 7.0 RO water un-pH'd to balance things out. It comes out to 2/3 of a gallon of 7.0 water to bring it from 4.7-4.9 back to around 5.4-5.5. Then I add a little pH up to finish it.

Therefore, I'm gonna have to step up the CalMag, I think. May need to also boost the P/K a bit more as I'm seeing the older fans starting to yellow. I've also had to give her a short day to adjust the timer for 7a-7p to accomodate the ventilation schedule. The new fan still hasn't arrived.

There are bud sites all up and down this thing! Not holding my breath for very large buds though, as I already know the genetics. This is one of the reasons I may defoliate as we go along here. I want to groom things a bit to allow light into the interior and the lowers as the uppers mature.

Hopefully, she'll surprise me.

A few new pics...

Not much different today. Trimmed some yellowed fans off to clear the interior for a bit more light. Another 3/4 gallon water gone. Nutes at 906 ppm so added 10 ml Micro and 20 ml Bloom along with 20 ml CalMag. pH will now be around 5.9-6.2 for magnesium mobility. Attempting "zero deficiencies".

Here are some way better pics. Any guesses on how long to go? I say 5 weeks.
Not bad for some bullshit bagseed, right?
