Well I suppose it could be, it seems like I remember that Columbian gold is usually they usually strip off the outer layer of the branch right at the end before Harvest. That's supposedly what gives it the gold color.I was researching that cutting the trunk in half day before the harvest shocks the plant into thinking a deer or some animal is eating it and it’s going to die in the next few days . This triggers increase resin production similar to dark period so combination of those two is what he claims produces the best resin
