I am growing AK47 auto. I planted 10 of them.

The plants are 23 days now and 9 of them are between 25 and 35 cm so far. One of them I fucked up and it will not grow.

I have done about all the mistakes I could do so far but this is how I learn :) I decided to do a practice grow while constructing my grow room.

In a few days it is payday and I will finish up the room. It will be a T8 setup with 8 of them , 1.20 meter, each with 2X36W. Blue for starters, blue and red after 3-4 weeks and only red the last weeks (for the AK47 anyway) this setup is in a 1.6 m tall+ 1.4mX2M. I could push 5 plants in but choose 4 plants per armature. The frame is built and I just need to put on some wooden plates and make entrance/holes for air. I will put up a photo of it when it will be finished. (Around 02 - 03 May - before it starts stinking to bad)

I build it all myself and only bough in the lights as a finished product. The only thing I am not sure about is the carbon filter but I will just buy one if mine will not do good (but it should)

So, my mistakes so far as I know of is:

- The moist in the air has been around 40 - 50 all the way until the later days when it has slowly gained 60 (60 should be good)
- I just bought a soil for flowers that had some leca in it (not enough) and put them in. (I did germinate first though)
- Kept the temperature around 82 degrees Fahrenheit (adjusting slowly down to 75 as I found out this today)
- The one that did not grow (because I put the seeds in the bucket and then I gave them water until it came out from below. This one seed got flushed and ended on the top of the dirt. I saw this 4-5 days later and put it on again)
- My fan was so strong that they were sideways for a while.
- Not PHed the water or rainwater.

This about sums up my mistakes so far. I think I should have done just a bit more research before the grow, but hey - 9 of 10 seem to do ok so far and this is just a test/trial grow.

I have one question:

Anyone knows what this yellow on the leaves is?

It is on the tip of this one also:

My biggest problem for now seem to be agreeing with myself what seeds to buy.. So many exiting autoseeds out there and a few places the 3rd generation autoflowers has arrived. What to buy :)

Well, I wrap it up for now. I will keep ya all updated on how things work out for me and of course I will make a grow diary here fro my next grow.

Ill be pulling up a chair on this one dude! They are looking good breeder did you purches the beans from wana grow these out next! :toke:

Looking really good weedlife!
Your plants look nice and healthy. Those yellow "spots" are most likely from splashing something on them that they didn't like, or where the leaf got squished or something like that. It doesn't look like anything is wrong with your plants. They look great!
Do your future plants a favor though, and fill your pots all the way up to the tippy top- More room for more roots and no stagnant air and moisture down in there.
:pop:

Weedlife those are some healthy looking plants. I think Noods nailed it on the head with the splash thing. Good luck with your grow I'll be following this one.

Good thing that they seem to be doing good. I thought it would be a good idea with a trial run.

I have no expectations to the yield for this grow but I would be happy if it would supply me to the next one was done.

A FEW QUESTIONS:
I have not given them any root nutrients or grow nutrients. I will start giving nutes soon (blooming nutes I guess). I can have the nutes here by the 06. of May and they are then exactly one month old. Should I order any other nutes or is it too late to grow/root nutes?

I have not used PHed water but this I can also buy the first of May. What type should I buy and will it have any effect after they have been watered for a month with tap water with no pH control?

To Dalyboy: marijuana-seeds.nl

To Noods: Thank you for the help. Also I will go with 3-4 gallon tall pots for the next grow and I promise to buy enough this time..:P

Sounds like you have some real nice water coming right out of the tap. That's always cool. Rainwater is best of course. It also sounds like you got pretty lucky so far with your water. If you want to buy water, you're going to need a pH meter to check it. It's an investment that will make the difference between stunted little runts starving for food, and plants like you got started now. They look like they'll give you some real sweet rewards. But if you're pH is too far off, they won't be able to feed and who knows what will happen.

In rain and tap water, there are all kinds of minerals and goodies that you won't find in distilled water. So you'll definitely need some nutrients. (I have no plan when it comes to RO water. Never been there, never done that) They'll want something to help them through blooming for sure. They'll still be putting on some growth when they start to flower, so some growth nutes would help that out as well. But none of that will do any good if you can't check your pH and get it right after mixing your nutes.

Taller pots and more soil..... You'll be kickin' butt then!

Time for an update of my grow.

I have now ordered Advanced Nutrients grow, micro, flower pack and added big bud. I do not think they will arrive before Monday 07.05.2012. The plants will then be one month and one day old. I am thinking maybe I should go to the local flower shop and get some nutrients for them to keep going until then but I am not sure. What do you guys (and girls) think?

Tomorrow I will finish up my grow room and I will take some photos and show you all the result. Give you a tour of what I have done. I do know T8 is not the optimal source for the blooming period but I use T8 all the way and just changes the tubes from veg light to flower light. The reason is simple. If all other conditions are equal and the only difference is the lighting it should only be a 15 - 20% smaller crop with the T8 mathematically. My tubes will put out 48000 Lumen in a 2.8 square meter area and it will be only using 600 and something watts. Also the grow is simpler, safer and cheaper - no worries about the temperature. The main reason for this decision is however safety from the police as they are now in many countries driving helicopters and using heat-seeking camera to locate farms. In my country growing has exploded and why risk getting caught for a bit bigger harvest when I only grow for myself and my close ones.

When it comes to watering I do have a question. I see most water their plants each 3. day or thereabouts. My plants are three weeks (and one day) and I have given them water 2 times in total. I think this will be because I have not mixed the soil with sand/perlite/leca (it was some leca in it) and the water therefor lasts longer. What do you think?

I have two plants that have something on their leaves. Please take a look and tell me if it is anything wrong.

How it looks now:

I put up photos and info about my grow room within a few days. (Just need to build it first)

Happy growing

Hey, no need to add extra nutrient if you get it on monday. Your container is about 10 L or so right? The soil holds some candy for the plant so dont worry.

You should only water when they need it. Take a finger and put it down in the soil. If its all dry you can add some water.

Some people weight there pot before they put in water the first time so they get a feeling how light it is. Then when it feels light they add water.

I add water two times a week in flower and once a week in veg.

I would say your on a great start, just keep track of PH and everything should be fine!

Happy growing fellow Scandinavian :)

Looking real good dude. I´m in for the ride.

How big are your pots and how much water have you been giving them when watering?

I have some jock horror in 6.5liters pots and they get around 0.7liter water every second/third day.
