Dense shrubs for sure. I've done some light defoliating on the White Widows. I do heavy defoliation of the OG Kush multiple times a week. Every fan leaf I pick off, it's like she grows 5 more in that spot.
Go for the ones not receiving sunlight. But dont forget the plant will decide on its own which leaves will die and consumes them as food
That's basically what I've been doing. She's so short and shrub like, I'm just trying to open her up for more light. She's finally starting to stretch a little, so she should open up more on her own.
