Hey all, im new here, been lurkin for a bit. But now I need some help. I am pretty damn sure this plant is a male.

So, #1, am I right in this dianostic and is this guy ready for the chopping block?
#2, these seeds were feminised, and I wanted to know how often this shit happens with feminised auto seeds. Because I definitely didnt germinate enough to cover this mistake in my limited space. Is it a common problem with certain seed companies?
#3, did I do something wrong? Is there anything I can do to prevent these feminised seeds from fucking up like this? Most auto strains are feminised only that I have and want. This means they are much more expensive and in my limited space and money i dont wanna germ double the seeds I need to account for males in supposed femd seeds. Any info on any of the 3 things would be appreciated. I also have 2 others started on 9/8 and 9/12 and im scared theyre gunna end up havin the same prob.... :cuss:

Anyway, info on the plant:
Auto seed - Hijack
Used dark space with wet paper towel in paper plates to germ @ +0
tap root emerged and put into Rapid Root plug @ +3 days
cotyledon leaves -@+5 days
Has been in a mixture of 3.5 parts FF ocean forest, 1.5 parts FF light warrior seedling, and 1.5 parts root organics
watered with airrated distilled bottled h2o
under 2 2' 6500k T5s 24hrs for a few days then 400w mh 6500k bulb 24 hrs to start then 21/3 round 2-3 weeks
used Mother Earth Organ Soil Ecolizer EM2 around 1 1/2-2 weeks
She, I mean HE, has only had one week of nutes. I am using General Organics go box.

anything else I forgot that might help lemme know please now currently just over 4 weeks old The other seed I germed at that same time has started to sex too(also a feminised seed, but not Auto Seeds) and has the more banana shaped parts and white calyxes

thanks for any heelp and very nice to meet you all

Welcome to the family chron:styles rasta:

i saw you already got some answers on the other thread, but i`l tell you i agree... that is duudes my brother

:karma Cloud: sent to you

What up chron...:pass:..welcome to the fam

Hi Chron

Welcome to AFN ^_^
I haven't seen your other thread yet, but can confirm that

(1) It's a boy
(2) You must have been really unlucky as I've only ever grown fems and never had a boy (in about 40 plants over 4 years).
(3) It looks like you started them off alright - just bad luck or a bad seed seller sent you the wrong stuff.

I know it must be really frustrating - I too have a small cab and these set backs (and partly my laziness) are precisely the reason i only get fems.
I wish you better luck next time and will be keeping an eye out for when you get a journal going!

All the best
Blue ^_^

Welcome chron, glad to have you on AFN. Sorry to hear about your troubles man, that can suck, especially when starting out. I will see you around the forum! Let me know if I can help.

Yeah man! those look like males, just dump them! such a pity

See you around

This is a super rarity, but depending on the genetics feminizing certain strains might induce greater tendency towards monoecious flowering.

Hello,
Thanks for the answer. So what you are saying is when Auto Seeds feminised this strain it possibly made it more likely to "monoecious flower"?

What exactly is monoecious flowering? Is it like hermaphrodites growing both parts?

Thanks for any help.

I went back and scoured my notebook after researching what makes femd seeds turn male/herm. I think the paper plates/towels during germination were on the side of an xbox that the temp got very high on the first day. I moved it right away, but I heard high temps could stress enough to turn femd seeds male... Anyone confirm this? Or is this bullshit??
I made sure to minimize the red spectrum emmitted from the bulbs I used, as I knew before hand too much red spectrum could stress femd auto seeds. The 400w MH bulb I used was the Ultra Sun 7500K and the T5s were 6400K.

Thanks to everyone for the help and welcome. Yall are good people and I really appreciate this site. Hopefully i can start to contribute son.. Haha

Welcome aboard and don't blame yourself for the males, I doubt high temps are the blame, more like a very rare occurrence. I have had a male from a femmed seed and know how you feel having wasted mainly the time. Plenty of help here, just ask and again welcome to a super supportive and fun site.:peace:
