Whats up guys! Long time reader, but first time poster here on AFN. Looking forward to becoming a contributing member! :stylez rasta smoke:

Its amazing the amount of info already up on here, any problems or snags Ive come across up to this point have been easy diagnose here.

So this is my first auto flower grow. I feel like its going pretty well so far, just a few girls have some problems/deficiencies that I just can't seem to get rid of, or if not deficient, can't find out whats stressing them. Here's what Im working with:

-3 Gallon pots
-FF Ocean soil
-Temp between 72f and 79f during the day
-Temp not lower than 68f at night
-Dont have humidity % (thinking this could be it, but can't see how it'd affect the plants this way, and also I'm in a very neutral climate growing indoors)
-600W Hps w/ Dimmable ballast
- ^ on 50% strength about 2.5-3 ft from tips of plants because I thought heat/light stress could be issue
-PH of water between 6.2 and 6.8
-PH of soil right at 6.5

-Used 1/4 strength FloraGrow 2-1-6 one time at week 3, most pants seemed burned, so have been feeding Ph'd tap water when needed ever since.

Think I included everything necessary, let me know if I missed something!

All plants will be starting their 6th week tomorrow. Day 35 from seed now.

Here are pics of whats wrong. First time posting pics or anything so bear with me :smoke: Added a full picture of each plant at the end (I think) too just because they look good to me, and I'm curious if I'm just being over protective of my new babies haha. Tried to put some more details about each plant on there too.

#1 Northern Lights B- two leaves pictured first have a lighter green tint to them, canoeing edges upwards, browning/yellowing starting to happen

#2 Northern Lights V- first two pics, leaves edges curling up, yellowing/browning from edges, lighter green appearance in random spots
IMG_0382.jpgIMG_0381.jpg

-these next two leaves are opposite each other on the plant, but the second picture was after trying to treat the the self diagnosed Nitro deficiency with foliage spray (good thing I tested it on one leaf first lol must not have been the issue)

#3 Super Skunk - this one really confused me. first pic is of the plants first big leaves in the beginning, as early new growth came in, they quickly shriveled up got dark green and gave me the claw. (N toxicity??) So I tied the two dead leave to stem so other leaves could grab more light
IMG_0386.jpg

- next pic is of the newer top leaves now, seem real dark green, downward claw, crispy tips and some yellowing
IMG_0387.jpg

- next is of small growth coming out, why are they yellowing and seemingly burning at the tips? they're practically out of the light and temps have been low with light far away

- and full

Any ideas??? Am I doing ok so far?? Hopefully this all posts fine, I'm going to check back and make sure. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks all! Peace :gthumb:

Your doing ok and your right nute burn especially nitrogen. Just flush with PH water and hold back on the nutes for a week or more.Knew growth should come out ok if you flush the excess nutes out. I don't know if you said you are using cal-mag but get some if your not.Hope this helps.

Thanks! I'm not using Cal-mag yet, but seems like I need to be after reading up a little about it. Couple of questions about it though...

1. I've read some people stop giving cal-mag at a certain point, do I need to stop feeding it when they begin bloom nutes? Or can it be fed throughout the grow?
2. Would you foliar feed it or ground feed? Could foliar correct them quicker?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to get them better! :woohoo:

i use coco i use it the whole grow ,never heard anyone say stop it in bloom

The Secrets of Foliar Feeding

yes foiler feed will fix the problem the fastest

i hope that helps, also check out our BOM NOM of the month
BOM ENJOY!!

Ok, went out and got me some Botanicare cal-mag a few days back and all plants seem to like it so far. Have done 2 feedings of it each like 4 days apart. 1st feeding was only 1/2tsp Cal-mag. 2nd feeding was 1 tsp Cal-mag and 1/2tsp NovaBloom. Feedings are in teaspoons per gallon.

Some still aren't looking too good in spots though.

These seem stunted, growing an inch or so every few days..

New growth is slow and tips are burned or curled..

Top fan leaves on one plant have opposite claw problems? One leaf goes up, opposite claws down :cuss:

One guy, a seven leafer even had his second leaf just curl up and die what the hell?

Any help would be awesome, don't want them getting worse!! :Thank You:

I have a Lowryder and Super Hash doing really well that I will post pics of too, these make me think its not the grow environment, maybe nutes or deficiency. Have been keeping the temp more between 73-75 now too just to watch for heat or light stress. Sorry for low quality pics, all i have right now.

LR- over 3 ft tall now, lots of hairy bud sites, doing amazing, gonna buy more of these

SH- almost 2 ft tall, LST'd her and she loved it, bushy with tons of bud sites, wish I could've done a scrog for her

Flush 3x the amount of water in the pot with ph'ed water. Give no nutes to the unhealthy plants for the next 1-2 weeks, then slowly begin giving nutes at 1/8th strength twice a week for 1 week. Then move onto 1/4th, twice a week for a week, and then 1/2 strength for another week and finally full strength.

Heavy nute-burn, maybe nute lockout.

Treat plant carefully. The best way of learning is learning from your mistakes. Next time remember to start your autos on 1/8th strength and slowly adapt the plant to higher strengths as it ages and week-by-week.

Nice grow and lovely plants. Karma your way!! :)

Flushed one of the plants so far with 3x amount in pot. The starting PH of the runoff was around 5.0… how could it have dropped so low?? I have been feeding with 6.5-6.8 Ph since the beginning.

Even weirder, the Ph of the runoff at the beginning was 5.0, but even after flushing 3x amount in pot, Ph of runoff remains around 5.5. More flushing would just seem repetitive to me… Do I need some dolomite lime or something?

Im using Fox Farm Ocean Forest as medium.

I dont think I would not feed it for 1-2 weeks lol I think you need a bit more cal/mg I give mine 1 tsp every feed after about a month but im under led also..1/4th cal/mg in a spray bottle should do the trick in 2 days or so..how are temps? How close is your light?:stylez rasta smoke:

If he has nute-lockout (which he might) from the burn, feeding it would only further the issue. The way i fixed my nute-burn was by stopping feeding for 1.5 weeks and then returning to normal at lower strengths.

Karma your way OP!

Temps have been between 72- 75 F. Have been keeping them low in case heat stress was a problem. Also, my 600w hps is about 3-3.5 ft from tips of plants, and I haven't lowered them since I figured it could be light/heat thats making the tips curl and canoe. Lol I'm just guessing at this point, any input helps
