Indoor FIRST ATTEMPT AT AUTOS AND GROW LOG 1xAK47 and 1x lowryder #2

Ok I'm gonna attempt to keep a log with this grow, will post as it progresses
I currently have a grow in progress, 1 x lowryder #2 Auto fem and 1 AK47 auto Fem currently germing in paper towel in ziplock, seeds from Herbies

My set-up is as follows:-

cabinet is plywood 3x3x7ft high, inline 6'' duct fan 250CFM in top corner, have the dryer hose connected to a charcoal scrubber, hole cut out near bottom for intake with carbon filter over hole to stop light and filter basement air going in. I have them in red 16oz party cups for the party cup contest. Also have a fan in the box to circulate air and blow gently on the plants

The lighting consists of 1 x 400W HPS

I am using Trio, open sesame, cha ching, and beastie Bloomz. My water from my tap is from a well, everyone has wells here in the country, no city water. My well water is always at 6.8, Im using a pump and bubbler and oxygen tabs to oxygenate water. Also adding 1/2 teaspoon per gallon inbetween Nutes of organic non sulpher mollases.

Now this is only my first real grow
The temp in there is between 75-80 with about 50% Humidity, (know this from growing a reg plant in there)
Wondering for 2 plants if I should just go with the true 65watt CFL's I have, the 400HPS seems a bit much for 2 plants
I'll try to get some pics up once these sucker crack, keeping my fingers crossed, never had great luck with germing

Hey man sounds like you got it goin on. 400w HPS will be perfect for 2 plants. However since your growing in party cups I wouldnt waste the energy on such small plants. If you had them in bigger pots the HPS would work perfect. I have 6 plants under my 600w and it barely covers them all. I wish I would have done 1 big plant, but to late now! OK, this eve will be day 3 in the paper towels, just saw that the Lowryder cracked and had a tap root about an inch long. Put it in some soil that I used on another plant in my 16oz Party Cup, moistened the soil, put it in about a 1/4 inch from top of seed to surface, and stuck it ontop of the cable box that throws off warmth and put a 65 watt cfl about an inch from the soil, hopefully she pops threw. The AK hasnt cracked yet, now on day 3 hope it does........Should I just mist the area where the seed is when it gets dry? It will prob dry out quick with the light and cable box, is it better to put some clear wrap over the top?

On yes, that 400w hps will def grow some nice plants but ya may wanna start ya seedlings under the cfl till they get some hardiness....I start all my plants under T5 and move to 400w hps after 3-4 weeks....good luck with ya grow...LR2 is a long time fav for their stability & hardiness....

Hey, HPS will give you some great buds! Dont go CFL go full power Imagine getting nice 2OZ plants!

Thanks auto, I put plastic wrap over the cup to hold in some moisture until it pops out. ......Hey ZAQ that would be great but I germed these for the 16oz party cup grow, lol I dont think I'll get 2 oz's from a party cup, but that would be nice

Hey man, if they are taking a while to pop, let them get some fresh air for about 10 min. My MI5 took 4 days to pop, I thought she was going to be a dud but after she got some fresh air for a little bit she popped the next morning.

Seems like I have trouble getting these tiny seeds to pop, the big ones, no prob. The AK still hasnt popped and my lowryder just broke the surface of the dirt, can just see the tips of the leafs sticking out....Tonight will be 3 days at 6pm tonight for the AK.....Just gave the new sprout some PH'd water. Im gonna keep it under the lights 24/0. Right now its under the 65 watt CFL and at 4 weeks Im switching the 400HPS on

hi jhnfrmrby420 ,sounds like your on your way to a nice grow.looking foward to seeing these little babies as they're growing.

IMO,i'd use the HPS.i think it will give you better results.
