I was thinking of which strain of seed i want to buy and have read many good reports and have seen alot of nice pics on many different ones. But then i started wondering wouldnt it be better if someone had a strain that you wouldnt have to give so many nutes to, one that would grow healthy big buds with just the nutes in the dirt you plant it in. That to me seems like it would benefit alot. Dont get me wrong im not knocking anyones strain of weed but i hear and read about people having to care for their plant like a full time job but its hard to do this with limited time. Im no expert by far so there may be some out there that may reach their full potental with little care and nutes i just know of any. Please any breeders or growers dont take this post wrong way im not talking bad about any strains out there im just trying to gain a little knowledge.

You probably could grow weed with out nutes if you started out with a mix of organic ammendments, with a good draining aspect, and it might turn out ok ,but by adding nutes organic or not your plant will get larger and have higher quality and more buds. Why not givw them some help along the way and she will reward you with a lot better yield.:peace:

Is this indoors or outdoors? Auto or photo?

If you use a potting soil made for pot, that makes things a lot easier.
You'll still usually need to add something when it blooms, but that's easy.

Myself being a new to auto grower I read thru some of the new grower fourms to see what strains new growers were chooseing and what kind of luck
they were having .As a new grower I knew I'd be making about every mistake that could be made(#1 over watering) so by reading what others have done and their
results I was able to make a better selection as what strain I wanted to go with first.:2cents: Hope this makes sence to ya and hope it is of some use:smoke:

take a look over at the mandala website, i think you will find the same kind of thinking as yours in their FAQs pages.

for an easy grow make sure the seed is an AUTO and for easy care use GOOD SOIL in a big pot and water every two days, if you forget a day never mind

jay there's this soil mix called m3 or medical marijuana mix and it's supposed to be a soil whch has all the nutes you'd need during your grow. They claim you just need to add water..

I copied this from their facebook:

M3 Medical Marihuana Mix – Patented and Award Winning Organic Grow Medium

As seen in High Times!

M3 Medical Marihuana Mix was made to simplify the organic growing process. M3 Mix is all you need from start to finish! It’s patented “Just Add Water” formula simplifies the complicated and sometimes frustrating medical marihuana grow process. It also creates an easy way to grow your medicine orga...nically!
Instead of buying, measuring, and mixing all of your grow mediums and nutrients separately, the makers of M3 Mix have done all of the work for you! With a patented mix of Seabird Guano's as the guano base, the M3 Mix is fortified with Green-sand, Blood and Bone Meal, and Rock Phosphates to give a complete meal for your fruiting or flowering plant. The Blood-Meal and Bone-Meal are added as a powder to give the plan instant nitrogen for the vegetative process, and the guano's and rock phosphates are crushed from pellets into tiny pebbles to give the mix its time-released Phosphorus and Potash. Peat Moss is proving to be the number one organic grow medium due to its high porosity, natural mycorrhizal fungus (which feeds on the composted Sphagnum we add), and its superiority to wood based grow mediums. Whether you’re a new grower, or have been growing for years, M3 Mix is an obvious choice due to its quality, simplicity, and environmentally conscious organic design.

So either way your plants will need nutrients to grow and thrive, regardless of strain.. although genetics do play a big role

Thanks everyone for the comments. One thing i was thinking about when i wrote this thread is a strain that was strong enough to survive on its own with little nutes but not only survive but grow to its full potential. I know ferts and things have their place but not everyone can buy the things that others can and thats where this strain would come in. I have grown some photos before that you had to give them a shit load of nutes and things or they wouldnt even grow and to me that seems like a weak strain i mean if a strain is good then it should grow with or without these. Dont get me wrong i know all plants will benefit from giving fertilizer to them but what im trying to say is a grower should have the option to give these or not. Please let me apologize to all the breeders and growers out there im not talking about any of you and i know each of you do great things and i would be honored to grow any strain seed you have. And the growers and breeders on this site are second to none you are all top notch and i hope i can learn from each of you. Like i said before i was just trying to find a good auto strain to grow and thought about this thank you all for your help

If you want your plants to grow well at all you need to fertilize them. It's not a matter of genetics, plants need to eat just like us. If you starve it, it will die or look emaciated. Sorry, that's how it is.

I know they need to eat i was just saying the food you plant them in and not having to buy all kinds of different stuff to give them. I was just wondering if you give the plants your breeding all these things then that means the seeds off of it will need it to. I know im not as smart as you guys on here i was just throwing out an idea.
