Ok in the process of waiting for both my lil ladies to be ready to get moved under the cfl to start! Do have a question since 1st time doing this in the 21st century! Have a bag of some local biological soil mix so my question is should I also get some cheap potting mix (or just perlite) to mix with my soil or should I just use it in its pure form with maybe a little perlite to make sure it drains properly?? Gonna transplant straight into my 5gal smart pots once they are ready for the 6500k cfl! Thanks

You will be fine adding some perlite.

Thanks! And think my question came out wrong. I have good living soil and perlite but didn’t know if I needed to mix in some cheapo soil to the mix or just give it all the good stuff??

Also I got my free sample pack on NFTG nutes but don’t really need em in living soil do I??

image.jpg Not really much change in 24rs except moved them into their final homes! Was gonna take nets off the jiffy pots but the roots were already growing through them! They are comfy now though!

Hey welcome, man! And good luck. A lot of times super soil can be a bit hot for seedlings, but just perfect for mature plants. So,e folks who use that just use something like Roots Organic, or similar less potent soil mix for the top 1/3, and use the super soil for the bottom 2/3.

This allows the young seedling to grow into the 'hot' soil.

I returned that wireless thermometer for acurite thermo/hygro so I could set it in the soil. Waiting to put them under led and using cfl 6500k for now til they get bigger since I’m 48hrs the seedlings were on the lid of the jiffy greenhouse thing so they couldn’t wait any longer.

Oh also instead of spending big$$ on a humidifier or dehumidifier since only gonna be running a 2X4X8ft tent should I just get cheaper ones without the fancy digital screen and instead get like an inkbird humidity controller that will just kick on the appropriate 1 to keep it controlled??
In my closet where I started em only been sitting between 35%-45% in there
