I wanted to wait until it looks better. But in the spirit of transparency I'm posting today. It was leggy so I bruised the branches to slow it down. It wasn't filling out the way I liked, so I gave it some chicken poop I have been testing on other plants successfully. It started putting on some weight, then my HPS died. I replaced the HPS with some LEDs I have, but had to reduce the plant count in the shed.

So I moved it indoors, but it's in a more crowded space. So I tied branches with string to move them closer together and taped one branch to hold it upright. Next week it will look better, but it is happy and healthy.

I feel this cultivar should be topped after it gains sufficient height, meaning later than I normally do. And pulling branches out just enough to let light inside the lowers, but carefully, so they remain more upright.

PS: I didn't top it, just bent over the main.

@MassMom Playhouse sand works wonders for gnats too. A layer on top of the soil prevents them from digging back in and laying more eggs. That's how I treated an infestation last year and it wiped them out in about 10 days or so. Of course the plants were outside, so with all the wind I ended up with crunchy, sand-infested buds. They were still usable though. :pass:

Edit: Sorry - mentioned the wrong user.

@MassMom I am a fungus gnat warrior. Long story short I have tried everything in my grows (leave some fruit out to long and they appear). My two pronged attack has came down to the DE earth and hand to hand combat. I will dig out the top few inches of soil and throw it outside and replace it with more fresh medium/soil. they are mostly on the top but will enter any holes.
And last but not least too much water. I have a few around but few using these methods. They tell me I'm over watering :bighug:
Granted we are using different grow methods but I hope it helps

Thanks peeps. Sigh, they are relentless little demons, aren't they?? :sadcry: I sprinkled in some dio earth, but other than that I think I am at the losing end of the battle. Going to hang in there a bit more and see what happens. XOXO

Nematodes saved my house plants. I would use them in my tent. I saved some and plan to do a preemptive before spring really sets in as they become part of the ecosystem in the pot. I've seen a couple and I'm sure It doesn't help my cause that my worm composting bin is in the same room. Begging for a problem. Good luck

Interesting that the appearance of gnats used to be believed by scientists to be an example of spontaneous generation. https://biologydictionary.net/spontaneous-generation/

Happy growing you know it makes sense :smoking: :smoking:

I was on the go from 6am constantly yesterday morning, so I was nackered. Quickly realised I ran out of 12L pots and had to do an emergency transplant on one of my seedlings that was unhappy. I had to transplant her into 16L, and I sat my other girl on a bakers tray for literally two seconds before she fell over! Gutted. Got far too many plants in my grow space and was hoping 3Wok would be completely finished by now but obviously not.

Anyways the girl who fell over looks to be in better condition somehow than the transplanted one. I’m having to leave her in here a while longer. She is 14 days today and I haven’t been able to keep babying them and give them everything they need from my lack of space. Hurtful but I will let them keep going.
