I'm a indoor noob trying to set up a roughly 4' by 2' by 5' cab, so about 40 cubic feet. From what I read I'll need about 100 cfm. I'm looking at a 4" vivosun 195 cfm fan on ebay and a speed controller. Does anybody have any experience with this fan? I also need a filter that can deal with 2 or 3 of Mephisto's strongest smelling strains. My budget is limited so I can't afford to buy junk and go back and buy what I really needed to start with. I'm ok with a diy filter as long as it works good and isn't the size of a 5 gallon bucket. I don't have a clue on this so I need advice from anyone who can help me.

I had the exact same question recently, I did some research and went with the following:

Manrose 4” mf 100
Rhino Pro Carbon Filter
5m acoustic ducting.

My space is slightly smaller than yours but then I have the fan set on the lowest of 3 speeds and it’s amazing. So so quiet, I bought a lot of junk fans before I found these... it’s like a mine field trying to source the right bits but I really am happy with these items. If I were you I’d read up on this fan and cf as all I could find were positive reviews and a decibel output at max of 28db for the fan is great compared to others! I obviously have limited experience and only crap fans to compare it with but I couldn’t fault my purchases

That looks like very high quality McTavish. Expensive but quality always is. I didn't express myself well in the first post. I'm looking for a more mid priced solution. If I can get six months out of the filter and a year from the fan I'd be ok and could upgrade later. I do need a fan that can pull 100 cfm through a filter at 60 to 70% speed and a filter that gets the job even if it doesn't last 2 years and I need to avoid junk that doesn't work from day one. Thank you for the suggestion and I am going to read more about these products.
