Old Reviews eye hortilux 315 cmh

By the way, this is the light that came with the eye hortilux 315. Not quite forsure what to think about it, it sure dont put out the light that my California lightwork solar extreme 500 does. It seems to be a pale blue, maybe that's normal? Any opinions?

The 315 alone is not going to be brighter than your CLW500. You would need 630W of cmh or so to equal that par of the clw. The pale blue is normal

While I'm currently running some QB(have to try out the latest lighting craze), I very much prefer CMH lights. Great coverage/ heat / and penetration.

As stated quick bulb swap about 5 weeks in is all that's needed and honestly you could easily do the entire grow under one. The spectrum difference isnt like going from an MH to HPS. Will you get slightly worse yeilds/quality from only using one... sure but it's not some god awful amount. I've been lazy on ordering replacment bulbs before and just ran with the Phillip's master cool all the way through.

And I'll echo others, I order new bulbs every 9 months or thereabouts. Basically every 3 grows I get a new set. It's just easier for me to remember as a countdown, ie 3...2...1.. change.

I ran a 315 watt CMH with a Timber 2 VL in a 4 x 4 before I bought an HLG 550 V2 Rspec about 18 months ago. With Phillips 4200k and 3100k bulbs, for veg or flower.

I would NOT say light penetration was better with CMH at all. Nice buds still but Quantum boards rule all, imo.

Still have all my lighting.
