How about this? Wouldn't the fan pull too hard against the ac unit trying to blow air?

Notice the vents on the sides for intake. I'll tape the plenum to the frame after those vents. They'll pull smelly air inside the room and what ever goes our the exhaust will be scrubbed.

Only if it's a lot of brew! Oh drat, now you have to brew 50 gallons of beer. :buds:

Those vents do not pull in air they are just to vent the condenser cuz it gets hot when it's running the only air being pulled in is through the front coil . But you have the right idea start the plenum after those vents and it doesn't matter if the fan is pulling the air to fast from the a/c as long as its getting rid of the heat it produces But carbon filters do not have a inlet and a outlet they have to be blocked off at one end to work so your gonna have to push air through the filter which isn't as efficient but it will work

Yeah stoopid, I'm heading that way. I just got in from making the plenum and on my way to the hardware store for the Y. Pics to follow. (I got a tickle typing your partial screen name, no offence) :o

Well that didn't work out too well. The little unit puts out 4 times as much heat as cold air. The 6" ducts heated up like oven elements. I haven't cut the soffit yet, making sure this was going to work first. I just jammed the duct down in the soffit and hot air was blowing back a little. The room heated up to 94' in a few minutes so I abandoned the project to regroup. I either have to decide to cut out the soffit or put it in the window. Right now the windows are covered with plywood painted black so it looks dark inside all the time. No light escapes at all. I'll have to cut a square hole then light will leak.

I sort of thought that was going to be the outcome, but having never tried it myself I wasn't 100% positive, so I didn't weigh in.
You should be able to handle the light leak with foam sealer, duct tape, and a little more black spray paint.
If you have the choice, put the AC on the north or east of you building, That will help it at the hottest point of the day and cut down on your power consumption.
The other thing that will help immensely, will be attic insulation.
I think your concern is going to be the cannabis smell from the AC exhaust.
If I were in a similar circumstance as you, I think I would consider one of the portable AC units over the window unit, They are designed to funnel ALL of their heat thru the exhaust hose, which you could easly hookup to your exhaust system.

NOooo! oh HELL No!

I got up this morning with the intension of getting this room cooled with this little ac unit and went straight to work, coffee in hand. I re routed all the ducts and vented the hot air just fine. It was running for a few minutes then I felt it. Hot air blowing right in my face from the unit. THOSE damn vents expell HOT AIR when the compressor needs to. I didn't build the plenum around them thinking they were intake NOT out.
I'm off the deal!
I'll suffer through and stick with Salivas out there. It never gets over 92'. If I can keep the roots cooler? Maybe setting the buckets in a large cooler with frozen 2lt bottles and holes for the plants to stick out of.
I'm out.... :firedevil:

I would just focus on keeping the roots cool man those babies won't mind the heat.
