New Grower EVAPORATIVE AIR COOLER..........Has anyone ever used one to cool your grow tent/room?????

Haven't started growing yet but I am testing out the lights and environment trying to get everything dialed in before I do. Im using a 48X40" 8bulb T5 fixture for seed to veg and (2) 360w (3w) Advance LED for flowering. So while running the
T5s full blast with the exhaust fan and a small circulation fan, the temp went from 67 degrees F to 87 degrees F with 35 percent RH. I was doing some research on ways to cool the air and ran pass a evaporative air cooler..... they are small enough to fit inside my 4X4X6.5 tent, cost less than a a/c unit and it also adds humidity to the air. Any thoughts???
 
That sounds pretty sweet of it works good, got a link? I'd like to learn more myself about it. Definitely want your RH around 60-70% RH during veg, like 50-60% during preflowering/veg towards end of its vertical growing and like 40-50% during flowering. Temps between 75 to 85 tops.

I grew up in the desert where swamp or evaorative coolers are used a lot. Up side: Cheaper to run and easier to work on. Since they work kinda like sweat does, if you live in a location that has high humidity a high percentage of the time, a swamp or evaporative cooler is useless. Plus you are introducing a moister environment which can lead to pm or bud rot.

In this case I need the humidity as it is currently around 35% RH..... So im thinking I can use the moisture.
 
For vegging yes, when they flower that 35% rh is good. I live in the tropics so my rh rarely gets below 60%. I grow really big plants, but my colas aren't the biggest so I bought a dehumidifer, but it kicked my temps up to high. The best bet for me would be an air conditioner that also has a dehumidifer incorporated. For you the evaporative cooler might be what you need during vegging, then use it sparingly while the girls are blooming
 
Thank you hal, I was basing my responses on my personal experience with evaporative coolers which is in well ventilated brick houses. Plants regulte temperature differently than animals so the additional moisture in the air does not allow the stomatas to regulte water content effectively which is why my plants didn't completely wilt away when my temps got to 95 degrees Fahrenheit the first time I ran the dehumidifier. The lack of moisture allowed the stomatas to fully open and use the moisture from the reservoir to regulate the temp, but I won't do that again. So what is the best solution Hal?
 
I would use silica to allow me to work with the high temps. If you want to stay organic try MaxiCrop's seaweed powder 0-0-17. Those products give heat tolerant plants, stronger stems, and faster metabolisms. My grow temps are always in the 80s and 90s. The warmer grows let you get a much more responsive plant, since the metabolism is controlled by temperature. MaxiCrop also has tons of hormones and enzymes to further speed those girls up. You may also want to add co2. Those 80's and 90's are ideal for co2, and an attic is easy to enrich.

Pretty much any grow space is easy to co2 enrich, because you already have it sealed for light reflection. Just a matter of timing ventilation and enrichment. The gear is pretty cheap also. I have tried to get feedback about using co2 on autos with no avail. When I start doing it on them later, I will share some results. You may be able to get better responses paddler54.
