hi all, i was just wondering if you guys have any tips for me to achieve this. im starting from scratch and have no needed items already except some computer fans unknown cfm rates.

a small growbox (maybe stacked rubbermaids) for 1-2 plants is all i had in mind.

ive done research and tried pricing things out but it always overshoots.

Hi snickers. Welcome to afn. I was on a really tight budget when i first set up, and i think my first set up (just 1 light, fan and filter) and with soil and nutes it came to about £300. All i can say is thank god for ebay!!! Hope this helps. Happy growing.

Check out my setup here: http://www.autoflower.org/f5/first-time-grow-pakistan-ryder-dinafem-fruit-auto-1618.html

$50 cabinet, homemade CFL light fixture, and PC fans. This can be put together for way under $300 and will at least get you started. I upgraded as I went along and added a larger fan & carbon filter. Of course how much you spend on seeds, soil, and nutes comes into play also.

where did u buy the cabinet? and also ive never been much of a DIYer and have next to none on tools. not even a drill! but ive heard a soldering iron would work to make holes for the fans, cords, etc.? also the bathroom fan you put in, does that come with a plug or do u have to wire it someway?

Snickers check out local classified ads and sites like craigslist etc to save some money,

You'll be amazed what you can pick up on the cheap.

One mans trash can be our growing treasure :D

I sent snickers a message regarding thi site but thought id share with the rest of you...I plan on buying my next set up from here, the whole package for $489.99

Bundle includes: 4x2x5 grow tent, 400 watt hps/mh air cooled tube light w/ digital ballast, 6 inch high speed inline fan, carbon filter w/silencer, timer, ligh hangers and a whole set of bubble bags (5 bags)

I find this to be a really good deal. They have a 250 watter bundle for $389 I believe. Not quite $300 but including the bubble bags and carbon filter alone, its a good deal.

Ill be sure to do a review of my bundle when it comes in. Could be total crap gear but hey well never know until someone real tries it out.

Hope this helps snickers! And welcome to afn!

I got my cabinet at Walmart but you can find similar ones at most big box stores or hardware stores. I used a jigsaw to cut through the plastic, but you might have an easier time using something like a serrated steak knife. Something hot to melt holes would work also. You may be able to shop around for a cheap grow tent that would be in the $50-75 range and it would already be ready to go.

The bathroom fans that I use do not come with a plug. You can buy replacement cords at hardware stores for around $10, or cannibalize one from an extension cord, old PC, etc. It does include wire nuts so all you need to do are connect three wires and you're ready to go. Most fans used for ducting will need a cord attached (as will PC fans).

between 4 pc fans or a bathroom fan what would u recommend? also im still unsure of soil or diy dwc bucket. which is easier to maintain and cost less up front?
also whats your opinion on hempy buckets?
