New Grower emerald triangle lemon haze first grow

Awesome thank you very much as per the soil mixes yiu mentioned my options are limited there is no place that carried fox far near me note roots organic soils dr earths black gold and MG is about as good as it gets around these parts and I want to try and stick with the Dr earth's. Reckon my question Is do you thing adding the 555 and 572 to the soil will hurt me more than it will help on my next grow?

Hey rs I actually saw that post just the other day my thing is that just the roots organics nutes seem to be very weak at 2-.25-1.5 when I see people coming in with 555 or 333 or 511 I feel I came in way way undergunned for the grow

Theoretically Auto's don't really need a lot of nutrition. I started trying different stuff, but decided it was too early to fiddle around and that I needed a program that used some of the nutes I already had and was tried and true. The person who published it has been on this site since the beginning so that's why I adopted it and will monkey with it as time goes on. I've already added Bud Candy per another member (who grows some big flowers).

Again, I'm just telling you what has worked for me and how I've gotten my first grow back on track. I'm two weeks or so from harvest and my little girls (very short strain) are pushing out some nice looking flowers.

How tall are your plants supposed to get? Mine are only supposed to get to about 30 to 60 cm. Also depending on your strain it may be one that does the 'helmet hair' thing. In other words, it will sit there like a little bush dome and then all of a sudden the will take off and jump up like mad all within about a week. You are there I believe. I'm veg'ing another strain right now, White LSD that is supposed to take over the whole tent, so I'm just growing two and they are already four inches tall at 15 days. So your plants behavior is really dependent on the strain.

Sorry for all the verbal diarrhea... Heh, heh, heh... RS

also just for reference

Here are my 2 dinafem blue amnesia xxl plants the smaller one in the smart pot was does in the same mix as the lh plants and the larger one in the 2 gallon plastic pot was actually a surprise pop up as I put 1 seed in the ground and after 8 days I put another in and guess what they both came up in 3 days so the larger one was pulled very gently and put into a solo cup of black gold after about 2 weeks I was able to get another pot and out It in straight dr earths and man she took off good another data point I've collected to make me feel that my original soil mix was not hot enough to give the plants the boost they needed

Haha its all good rs it says that it can yield up to 150g and keep and eye on her and she'll want to get quite large but it also says it's a short and stocky plant so who knows. I noticed a seed bank is selling 10 packs of these and is out of stock on regular seeds. I sure hope these aren't being discontinued as I really had my hopes up for these bad boys and if I like it and can't get seeds anymore I'm going to be mad lol

Oh yeah... It's not just nutrition. There are a lot of factors that will influence your success. If any of these are lacking, all the nutes in the world won't do much good. You've just experienced the first CaMg def.

Others are...

- Light (got that covered),
- Humidity (High for veg and Low for flower),
- Soil (light and airy as possible, w PH 6.5), PH should 6.5 for ideal uptake of whatever nutes you use,
- Water - avoid tap and remember that if you are using filtered water that it's got NOTHING in it, you definitely have to supplement it with CaMg. I use ground water or snow and PH adjust it to 6.5 and it has lots of minerals in it but I still add CaMg... I also oxygenate my water using an aquarium pump and bubbler. Roots LOVE oxygen!!! Thus the 'light' soil mixes using LOTS of perlite.
- The POT, you will see many people on her using fabric or smart pots, both provide a lot of air (oxygen) to the roots.
- Moisture, keep the soil on the dry side of moist and avoid wet or damp soil. If the soil is too moist, the roots lack the oxygen they need to grow like mad.
- Temperature - I'm averaging 80 which they seem to love.

And of course, the biggie... Never transplant if at all possible, it will most definitely stunt your plants. I know, I made that mistake too.

I hope this helps... This is a distillation of everything I've learned from others who grow some mean shit on this site.

TTFN... RS

Yeah I heard the don't transplant had no choice with my blue amnesia xxl and she's doing the best out of all of the plants I have going haha then again I'm very very good at transplanting plants not bragging or sounding arrogant just saying I'm good at it so perhaps my method works well for autos *shrugs

You can use any decent soil as long as it is sweet (PH 6.5) and light (lots of perlite). It's just easier to use something like Roots or Fox Farm, etc.. Lots of people on here mix their own soil. I happen to have a store near me so I just go there and get Roots Light soil.

I have no idea about the N-P-K question. There's so much complexity about what happens when you get the organics matter in the soil... I do know that veg'ing plants love high nitrogen, and flowering plants like high potassium. So I'm not sure what adding the different concentrations at one time will achieve. You should go to the organic growers area, poke around and see what folks are doing that works well and just copy them. They've already done the hard work for you.

Regardless, most people will love to help you out here. Happy growing :)

Thank you for the advice rs it is much appreciated for sure I'll go down to the store and pick up some Epsom salts tomorrow

Hey muffin man that's a good lookin chick right there can I ask what nutes your running I'm trying to go all organic or as much as I can :)

Freedom, Thanks I have no clue what I'm doing but it seems to be working. As for my nutes, so far the only thing I've used is Canna Coco A. My pots are a hydro/soil hybrid system. In them I'm using 70% Coco Loco, 20% perlite, & 10% calcined clay. That's it, I was using filtered water but am now trying tap water.

Interesting set up muffin man I know I was looking at doing a drip system for my soil grow at some point but now sure how well it would work with organics

I do wish I could get some info on using the Dr earth's 555 and the tomato 572 fertilizer in the pot of gold soil and if it's going to kill my plants lol
