Anyone ever use ebay led lights? What where they and howd it turn out?

Im thinking of getting a few blues and reds just one solid color just looking for some info on them

The ones with the cardboard backing should be avoided. The LED drivers (power source) are pure crap. But on the other hand, they work ok if you just want to use them as supplemental lighting only. I am guessing that you are talking about the cheaper models?

i got one from ebay, it works great... but i am a novice in this game

i won't use the ebay LED...but you know that i don't use LED so i would listen to any of this post........................cause...............

maybe the HPS I was looking at would be the better choice only thing is they take more power and create more heat and less g/w but they are a lot cheaper here's a link to a 600w HPS I was looking at also http://htgsupply.com/Product-Digital-Greenhouse-%20600w-HPS-Grow-Light.asp

But I'm almost considering giving a few of these a try if anything else they could be for clones of non autos, regeneration, seedlings or something...
Here's a link to the LED's I'm considering http://www.ebay.com/itm/1Pc-E27-RED...Domain_0&var=580148056507&hash=item416d05d4ae there not super cheap for what they are but far cheaper then the ones on the other sites

Personaly i wouldnt bother with that LED it looks shit mate if you want LED it is well worth saving the extra cash up for a decent unit..
The HPS seems ok just remember if your looking at differant Ballasts then digital is better than the magnetic ones..

Welcome to AFN also when you get chance head over to the new grower section and hit up the Introductions thread give us a bit of back ground on your sef mate :bong:

I would avoid that LED at all costs!

Look for second hand BlackStar LED's, you seem them on ebay occasionally.
Otherwise some of the $200+ ebay LED lights do not look too bad, especially since you can tailor the spectrum!

But then again i would rather cough up a bit more to buy locally so that if something does go wrong getting it repaired is not a major PITA!!!

I bought mine from Gotham hydro and thought they were a pretty good deal!
