Dutch Passion Dutch Passion AutoUltimate / 15L Airpots Plant Magic Soil

I am officially excited

Thanks for dropping in Tony.
Getting towards the end now. A few ups and downs but the results are not too shabby.

A tip for anyone in the UK, Plant Magic soil is a nightmare in terms of holding a steady PH.
I have been using Tangs feeding guide. He only advises this to be used with Plagron Light mix soil or a very very lightly fertilised soil.
Plant Magic can run for 2 to 4 weeks without a feed and later in the grow PH goes all over the place.
This is my 3rd soil grow and 3rd time with Plant Magic so now Im starting to see a pattern of behaviour.

Ha ...Looking forward to the next instalment ala hydro... Will make for some interesting results.
It's funny because i always think of Soil as being the less labourous medium.
Always been quite stress free for me (a few bumps along the way). But i guess if you can lock the hydro down its got its major upsides. Seems like a lot of work to me though. Constant maintenance, but hey, whaddo i know??

Good luck man... Sure it will be a fun journey !!

Cheers D man :)
Im feeding twice a day now and thats running around each pot individually. Im too old and fat for this soil job :) Its a young mans game soil..
I cant wait for the luxury of a single res to attend. RDWC here we come... Look out mud munchers!! and lock up your daughters!! :smoke:

Time for an update I think.
Day 69 in the big brother house!! errrr nope its not a reality series :slaps:
Well it should be a reality series, how good would that be...
Instead of watching wanna be nob heads talking rubbish, you could be watching me huffing and puffing rolling round trying to water my bleeding plants twice a day.

Im on the Tang weight loss plan, get as many plants as you dare and water them twice a day in searing 28 degree heat...
The weight just rolls off ya Woops

To the plants dear fellows, to the plants.
So its day 69 since being above ground today.
Last week my 2 whopping great big mahoooosive Think Different's were found with some dreaded bud rot in the main cola.
Im never peeled open a bud before in my life, so why I walked past and thought I better look inside I will never know.
It must of been divine intervention!
Yea now I come to think about it, I did see a bright light

Anyways after the shock and the tears it seems I caught it early. Both plants lost most of there main cola but worst things happen at sea right.
Ive checked everything else and so far we are clean and serene in there now.
That said my arse is twitching and Im keen to get chopping some plants down. Making a bit of room should help increase air flow.

I have AutoUltimates that are all doing well, too tall though thats for sure.
These are going to be a good couple of weeks yet.
I have a couple of AutoMazar that are pretty short and fat and not so great.
Then I sneaked in a few of TD's which have been amazing and mega quick on the growth.

First down is going be the TD's.
I know its early but I have to say they look ready to me.
Buds firm - check
Pistels browning off - check
Leaves dying off - check
Smell amazing - check
Do a little dance with my 2p pile of shite magnifier - yes check that
The tric's are cloudy and Ive had a sneaky bud and fuck the flush and cure it bloo my teeth out.
Lovely lovely smoke, I took a bud off last week and paper bagged it for 5 days.
Im still ripped now at 11am from last night.

Here are some pictures of my first lady up for the chop.
She is a Dutch Passion Think Different, coming in at 90cm tall and so far been a total pleasure.
No bud rot with this little darling.

I will leave you with the pictures, Im planning on chopping one lady each day. So there should be some decent updates over the next few days.
Enjoy

First three pics as she came out the room with her leaves on

Next I remove as many large leaves as possible before the final chop
I always chop in stages so I dont get too bored. Sometimes I leave the plants like this for a few days drinking clean water.

Looking really nice there true.. A hefty harvest is ahead no doubt..

It's funny as I've gone the complete opposite way from DWC to soilless (plagron) to organic soil.. (Bio-Canna terra plus)
Have you tried the Bio-Canna soil with the Bio-canna Vega/Flores Boost & Rhizotonic.. It finding this combo works a charm.. I'm adding a few other things like seaweed & carbs but that Bio-Canna range grows dank.. Forget about pH with it.. Just watch em grow.

DWC in my opinion is a pain in the arse.. & I grew a couple of decent plants with it..
Just think you can't beat the complex flavours you get from organic soil growing..

Yea man Im hearing you on the taste thing.
Ive heard that since being back growing. Years ago I only ever grew in NFT and had zero problems ever.
I new no better and just followed a mate. Both of us never had any rot, stunted growth or anything neg to report.
That was 15 years ago now and I thought I would try soil on my come back.

Now getting to the end of this grow I can see the soil being the problem.
Tang is using Plagron light mix and I have a few mates who copied his grow completely.
They are roughly in the same grow period as me now and suffered no PH issues with the Plagron.
Must be my Plant Magic soil.

Also brother soil is heavy and dirty and heavy... Im lazy man and have a bad back.
Its water for me from this point... I can always come back to soil but keen to have one res tank to deal with not 10 pots :)

Cheers KushT

I'm on morphine patches for my back bro.. I'm over forty.. & yes lazy.. We 're all in the same boat around these parts it seems lol..

I was DWC Seymour style.. 20L buckets 60l per min air pump etc.. Much harder work.. Especially when they start to drink.. 3 res changes a week from mid flower on.. It's no joke..

I class TaNgs style of growing as soilless.. Plagron light would be a soilless mix I tried that way with the AN pH perfect feeds after the DWC.. Works a treat no doubt also..

But for the best dankest flavours nothing beats organic..

Give Bio-canna a run before giving up on airpots bro.. Forget about the pH the soil works all that for you... Bio-Canna goes down to 4.9-5.0 pH at full strength.. Seems nuts... Pour it in.. Comes out at anywhere between 5.8-6.6... It fluctuates as to whatever the beasties are doing in the soil.. I say let them deal with the pH in the soil. Lol it's easy
