I’m running 5” duct work to exhaust out. My ducting is really short and JUST attaches to my vent to vent out the hot humid air.

My question is.. can ducting be too short/tight? Will this Be reducing my airflow? I know longer ducts reduce flow because it takes longer to reach its destination.

Wondering if I can cut new ducting longer than my short tight ducting and it will allow me to exhaust faster/more?

My humidity is like 65% in flower which is concerning me about mold

What's there humidity like in the room where the air is being drawn into to the grow? What's your current temperature? Flowering in 65% is possible with the right VPD

Those are my closet stats ^

My intake may be a problem because it’s only a square in the wall (not even 3”) but I am very limited right now until pay day.

Humidity in room outside closet is more than likely around late 50s/60s. Getting really hard to control my climate without all the needed resources

But with my fan, it doesn’t appear to be pushing out a lot of air through the vent so I’m wondering if it’s a ducting issue that’s causing restriction

Intake should be twice the size of the exhaust. Humidity is a bit high, you need some more fresh light coming in

Just very reluctant to cut a 10” circle in my wall lol. Becomes another stressful issue of buying a 10” holesaw part, and then an intake fan possibly, and blocking out the light. 10” hole is really noticeable. Can’t use a tent or I would. Even if I leave the closet door open, it only drops by a couple percent most times

You can run a higher humidity and I usually run around 60 RH but you would want to raise the temps a little. Fans on the floor pointing UP into the canopy help as well IMHO just moving air around. I work with about 80F 60RH give or take without issue. Check the VPD chart that Death posted. May just be easier to raise the temp a little more. YMMV and all that goes with it.

The temps and rh fluxuate constantly. Never ever stable. I can increase the temps but I’ve lost two plants to mold this run and it’s very concerning. Especially for my strawberry nuggets as she’s small with quite dense foliage. Any the nuggets strains I’ve had have grown very small and dense, with buds real low into the canopy top that are easily hidden away. Mold has destroyed my grow this run so far so I’m trying to avoid it growing on my last two girls as much as possible. Only thing I can do is wait until next week until pay day and just buy a 5” small axial fan, cut 5” hole in wall lol, then duct it to bring fresh air in more often. But obviously it means I have week to risk mold. Got two fans there. Sadly one is too big and I can only tilt it down so far, and my other fan on the floor only rotates and pushes air through lower canopy, but sadly can’t point the bitch up. Beginner growers need to understand that they can’t spend the least amount of money possible and avoid proper ventilation because they will just run into these same problems. I literally recommend everyone to do it right from the start, no short cuts like I did lol. I feel like My extractor fan isn’t moving much air. There is only a litre blow out the vent, so im wondering f extend the ducting if it will be More efficient?

Yeah, sounds like a tough situation. I hear you on the economics thing too. Not exactly a cheap hobby to do it right. My business is slow right now as well, and I am not spending anything on extras.

So you're in a literal closet? Is this a house or flat? And do you own it? Or renting? We rent cuzzzz Los Angeles is dumb. So my options are limited to tents only. Plus you have the legality issues as well I presume.
