@TheJoker did you try a dual spectrum bulb? i've been thinking of trying one, be nice to be able stagger my autos to maximise space and a dual spectrum bulb seems ideal if they will work effectively through both veg and flower

i wonder what the heat generated is like? i noticed mh produces more heat then hps, so would a dual spectrum bulb be be cooler than a mh, the same, or - and i hope not - hotter!?

Hi guys,

What is your experience with Dual Spec HPS bulbs? I am basically wanting to minimise stretch for the first few weeks of my seedlings and thought that this would play a good role in minimising stretch but also supplying my older plants with sufficient red spectrum light.

I use those bulbs and find them as good as any other. I use dual spec as I have no time to switch between mh and hps

Dual spectrum HPS seems to work well for me and has allowed me to stagger the age of plants so I can run perpetually. ( like in here- https://www.autoflower.org/threads/the-giant-dr-feelgood-project.53063/)

I use a double ended hps bulb with an led to throw a more blue spec ,I have used dual spec hps and found them to be excellent lights with excellent results,using the metal halide in veg provides a very stocky plant in veg with lil node space ,the hps or dual spectrum gives the plants more of a stretch ,I am a firm believer that multiple light specs cause the best results so in my opinion variety provides excellent medicine.
