New Grower Dream Bean Double Berry Slushy and Blueberry Breath Grow Journal

The ladies are transitioning well to outside and are ready to move into full sun today. They have continued to stretch and the DBS2 is now taller than the others. The flowers are starting to get frosty!

You're making me want to try outdoor. If I start them indoors I could put them out next June when home-grows become legal in NYS.

I do worry about y'all who have to live under prohibition.
It does suck that you can grow over a 9 foot tall monster in poopy sun, because you don't want it to be seen, and sweating bricks the whole damn time. And that was just in a damn earth box!
A move of 75 feet would have quadrupled the production and quality.
If it were legal, I could grow the way I know how to grow any vegetable or plant..... raised beds in the ground.
When I sold my farm, the most difficult thing to give up was my garden. I had left most of it stay in cover crop and I only used my raised area beds. I got lazy as hell and used square bail hay, sectioned, to cover the pathways. The beds were very low maintenance and I had a huge stockpile of extremely high quality compost and I've fed blended vegetable scraps from the kitchen to my worms in the beds.
That garden site was absolutely 100% full sun! It would have grown such beauties. There was almost always a breeze through the garden, so mold would have been minimal. I always had great fruit and vegetable production from those spots.

Do it! It has its challenges, like all gardening, but so rewarding. They are so stunning in the sunshine!!! You have plenty of time to choose cultivars that will be best suited to your climate. Next season I want to try some autos in the ground! Had I known these would end up outside, I would have put em in bigger pots!

Sounds like an amazing garden, I'm sure it was hard to leave behind.

The ladies are loving the full sun and are officially fungus gnat free! The 2 Double Berry Slushy's are so different. DBS 1 has super dense buds with orange hairs forming and a sweet ripe sour berry smell. DBS2 buds are less dense and turning a deep purple, the smell is more sweet berries. The Blueberry Breath also has dense buds forming with purple emerging, the smell is fresh sweet blueberries. They are all sticky smelly frosty beauties:biggrin:

DBS 1 got between kitty and a bug and suffered a blow. Gave her some support and she's recovering well, lucky for kitty😉 Otherwise the ladies are doing well and drinking up their molasses water every few days.
