Hey guys,
Well my beans showed up today. Imagine my delight. It was kinda shortlived though.
For starters I was missing a couple free seeds and the ONE I got was a lil shady (RQ bluematic). It was awfully tan (ish) in color and had some green hues coming thru. It was a little weird. Not the typical black and brown I'm used to. Wondering if it is immature or sterile. But that's not my biggest concern...

I opened up my 7pk of DP think diff's and carefully dumped them out to inspect them for shipping damage...(they were fine). But I'd be lying if I didnt say that they are the absolute smallest seeds I have ever seen. EXTREMELY SMALL! Is this normal? Three of them are like rediculously small. As in smaller than the tip of a dull pencil small. And a couple of those three of almost appear mishapen. (Immature?) I've never grown these before so maybe I'm just paranoid. They appear to have proper coloration though. But my god guys these tiny things are gonna be a bitch to germinate and sprout. :jaw:The smallest ones are no bigger than the printed numeral "7" on the front of my 7pk breeders pack. Any input on the matter is appreciated. I will attempt to attach pics for reference...(sorry I cant do like a super zoom to get up close and personal on them to examine the color/shape. But included some other thing around the border of the one pic for size reference.)

Seeds came from Herbies btw...already contacted them about my missing 'free souvenirs', and made a mention of the small TD's just to see if its something they are familiar with... But they shouldnt have anything to do with a sealed breeder pack of seeds. Input appreciated. Thanks guys.
P.S. You have to look really closely at the pics to see the true outline of the seeds as there is a slight shadow around the edge of the seeds making them appear just a tad larger than they actually are. Thanks again!

They look fine to me

They are fine bro. There can be smaller seeds from time to time but it doesnt seem to have any impact on germination or plant size.
Good luck..

Thanks robwars...that's somewhat comforting at least. I've heard of some strains having very small and sometimes slightly odd shaped shells before but i didnt know TD's were of this fold. I've just never had the pleasure (or pain?) of dealing with tiny seeds before... See the bluematic in the one pic? I'm used to and much more familiar with big fat seeds like that LOL... I don't think the seeds in the TD journals I've read were near as small as these (Strain was newer then too tho...lot 'choicer' seeds to go around then maybe...everybody seems to be growing a few of these this year however so it would make sense if stocks were getting lower than when first released). I dont know... thanks for the timely response tho.

P.S. In case anybody was wondering; I got my order from Herbies in exactly 7 days...which was pretty quick! Especially for ordering the thurs before easter and them making it all this way that fast with holidays goin on (I would have thought they would have got caught up in a backlog at the post...but it didnt happen). Albeit I was missing 2 free bluematics...which would effectively be 20% of that seed order...so I guess we have to pick our battles. I've only good (relatively) experiences with them tho in the past so I fully expect them to make it right. I just wish I wouldnt have to wait around tracking another package again for two seeds (if they indeed re ship them, which is typically their policy if its their mistake). Will prolly post here or on my thread in the outdoor forum as to how that situation was resolved. Thanks again

Thanks duggy! We will surely give them a fair shake when the time comes and see what happens lol

I got some DP StarRyders a few weeks back and i also thought they were the tiny'est lill seeds....now their 2 feet tall......good things come in small pac's man..Good luck with the grow man:peace:

Just a quick update. Im pretty cool with the small seeds now. I've had plenty of people assure me that its ok so i'm good. I also got a reply email from herbies today (quick ) regarding this matter (and the missing freebie). Here's what they had to say:

"With regard to the small Dutch Passion seeds, this is quite normal, Dutch Passion now produce the smallest, tiny seeds we have ever seen, but we have no complaints about the collectability of the product. See how you get on collecting them, and please get back to us if there are any issues.
Dutch Passion will confirm this, they are one of the oldest and most highly regarded of companies who produced the first ever feminised seeds"

So yea this just confirms what everybody's been telling me and what I already knew about the DP quality/heritage.
To find out what they said about the missing freebies you'll have to check my thread 'Shadowbucks go at an outdoor grow' later.

Peace

Hi Shadowbuck.

A lot of the gents/ladies who have posted in response to your thread are correct. A lot of the seeds are really small, especially the StarRyder like MR.Green mentioned. I was surprised at how small my StarRyders were when I grew them :)
They all look grand to me bud, and I've grown a lot of Think Different so far. Good things come in small packages :D

Thanks billy. Yea I've heard this from everybody. My mind is at ease again lol. I've got a thread started over in the outdoor forum about this as well...it won't be hard to find if ur interested

Peace :peace:
