Hey Mephies,

I was wondering, on the Strain Guide I have from 2019, Double Grape is listed under Limited editions and as an F1 cross between Sour Stomper x Grape Crinkle.
While on the website, it says "F7 Feminised Automatic ". When you brought it as a Reserva, you further inbred that original cross until F7?

If so, how do you think this current offering differs from your earlier one?

@stan_mephisto

Thank you for your help.

I would have to check and see if the double grapes I’m finishing up are from the new reserva pack or the 2019 pack I have, but there has been huge differences in every plant I’ve grown out of the 2019 limited pack. These are two double grapes from the same pack of beans and almost everything about the plants are different. They both look great tho either way.

Hey guys,

Thanks for chiming in.

I haven't had the chance yet to explore the whole pack Double Grape from 2021 stock. From what I have, all I can say is that it's surely loud AF. Like pouring fuel into a pine tree moldy leaf mulch.

@BII , regarding how uniform the F1 phenotype is, depends on the type of F1-cross you are referring too. If we're talking about a true F1, they should come out pretty uniform. Only when they are brought to F2, that their phenotypes start segregating. In the sense of polyhybrids, it's exactly as you said, assuming the breeder making the selections indeed selects with that intent. (that of stabilizing the phenotypes)

Great plants @MichiganMan ! They are surely on a good route. Worlds apart in regards to structure, too. You're doing organic soil?

Thank you and yes they are in organic soil in 5 gallon pots. That picture was actually from March 26th and the smaller plant has been cut and hanging and the bigger one is almost ready for the chop. This is a bud from the smaller plant at harvest.

I like the structure and I like the leaf to bud ratio. Looks like an easy trim too.
Didn't Meph do a cross Double Grape and Sour Stomper?
How easy was she to grow? Sour Stomper was super easy to grow with hard buds with no larf and silly easy to trim. I almost forgot the frosty nuggs.......stacking of the frost.

Great results!!!!

They sure did! I got some of those double grape x sour stompers as freebies not too long ago. I’ve grown out a few and they’ve all been great plants. I think Sour stomper has got to be my favorite from mephisto. I really want to cross a sour stomper with a Cinderella jack from Dutch passion. Seems like it would be a super tasty frosty mix.

I'll be attempting making some Sour Stomper seeds this next run in a new little 2.3ft x 2.3ft tent. I'll try to collect and save some pollen for the future. I just like/love Stomper's simple structure.

I'm planning on doing that. Back when I grew photos a couple of times I'd keep a male and then pollinate single branches on various plants in my grow, got some nice F1's from it. I hope to do the same with autos, although so far from what I've seen reversing does not make nearly as much pollen as I'd get from a true male, even if I reverse the whole plant. I'd like to reverse a Sour Stomper, cross it with another SS, and a Cinderalla Jack, and then with my other Meph favorites like Cosmic Queen, Alien v Triangle, Double Grape... That ought to keep me busy for a while. ;)

I don't have the time or space to pheno hunt and continue crossing, I'd just be making some seeds to grow the way I plan to grow Meph freebies, one-offs in SOG-like setup for some variety and hopefully some happy surprises.

I ran one and posted the results up top in the MG Records... sticky thread. Look back around end of Nov to beginning of Dec 2020. I even had it Lab tested and its FIRE! The lab results are posted there as well. Its a great cross and has better Grape than either of its parents.
cheers
