Ok so i have a few seeds of 2 autos. I have a dark sparks and sour crack. Now the thing i wanna know is does it matter which plant is turned male or will the cross regardless be the same. Say the dark sparks was turned male then pollinated the sour crack. Or the other way around will the cross seeds still be the same?

Am interesting question, from the little reading I've done, I'm guessing not much difference.

This is based mostly on one of Mephs releases, last time round it was one way, this time the other, still referred and listed as the same strain.

Little late I know but I wanted to chime in.. heres a quote from one of mephistos last illuminauto strains.

This strain may sound familiar to some of the old school meph_heads out there, this is indeed a re-work of one of the original Illuminautos from the first ever drop back in 2015. We're speaking about Illuminauto [HASHTAG]#7[/HASHTAG] - Toof Decay x Fantasmo, which long since sold out many moons ago, but she really was an epic strain and when we had the two parent strains running alongside each other again, we couldn't help ourselves.

For Illuminauto [HASHTAG]#39[/HASHTAG] - Ghost Toof, the parentage has swapped around, this time using Toof Decay as the pollen donor and Fantasmo as the recipient, but we are confident the genetics will combine in just the same lovely way as before. Here's what we said back in 2015.

'Sweet phat flowers of the Toof decay mated to the sativa zing and vigour of fantasmo express. Also likes to colour up.Toof decay, one of our frostiest varieties (known to produce resin on males) really passed down her frost on this ultra rare cross.'

Not much variation.. maybe if you were making a polyhybrid from 2 unstable parent strains it could be different but if you're making a true f1 hybrid with 2 stable strains it shouldn't matter what strain is the male or female because true f1s should have mostly equal expression from both parents

What breeder and generation is that dark sparks strain?

I know sour crack is at least f8 right now so if dark sparks is stabilized aswell then you'll have f1 seeds..

If not then I would expect variation no matter what strain is the pollen donor
