I am looking at doing auto plants with the 4-4-4 spikes and the 2-7-4 spikes in coco coir in 3 gallon fabric pots. I am thinking about breaking 1 of the 4-4-4 spikes in half and putting it into the pot when I put the coco coir in then break 1 of the 2-7-4 spikes in half and putting it in at the start of flower. Would that work similar to biotabs with it?

I would think it would take too long for the spikes to break down and become available to the coco and to the plant.
For as fast as autos go You would be better off grinding it up.

But if that’s the route why not just go with a product like Dr Earth or similar organic granular dry amendments at around 2-4 tlbs per gallon of coco. Mix into soil then top dress 3-4 weeks for transition to bloom then 3-4 weeks later in early flower.
