Do you LST after Topping? When?

Then how long to wait before any trimming? I see people cut off the top 2 fam leaves a few days after topping. Is that good or bad?

I defol as needed from 21 days plus of life as needed to keep my girls happy.happy growing

I would think both, more the 1 way to skin a cat lol. Experiment with it, my 1st grow I accidentally topped just before flower. Way later than I would top on purpose, but worked out good. You can top after whatever just mak sure she has enough veg left. Days 14-20 are optimal but not set in stone, some strains veg longer so you could do later. Lst as long as you're not cutting the branch with string, yarn, etc something that's sharp you'll be ok not sure you can mess up. I use soft rubber ties, best thing I've found. Jump on YouTube and watch as much as you can, you will be able to sort out the bad techniques after you see a few. Stay lifted.

When doing LST & keeping the middle open, what happens when the middle growth is shorter than the outside growth?

If you can continue to bend the outer branches down, you should do so but if they're too stiff or you've run out of room you have to decide if you want to keep the middle knowing you may sacrifice your bud weight higher up. Personally, I would keep them but my light is pretty strong so I find the low bud to be of decent quality. At harvest you can cut the taller buds first and lower your light giving the lower growth an extra few days to finish.
