I am using these and think they may have been a mistake. I don't think they are drying out fast enough.

Are the holes too small? The pot itself is 9x9 and 10" deep.

Do I risk transplanting autos into smart pots?

Plenty of successful grows happen in those...just make sure they are draining well
and maybe drill some more holes down there (carefully) ;)

Maybe even carry that theme up the vertical, rounded corners.

My 2 cents.

Thanks Trapper. I've thought about using something to make the holes bigger so they get more air and dry better. Maybe twisting at the holes with a screwdriver making sure to not upset the roots.

yeah...that may work. :)

Do you have a drill? If so, just set a depth limit on the bit
by wrapping masking tape around it where you want it to
stop. All you have to do is go slightly further than the
material thickness, and that prob. wouldn't disrupt either.

My concern (and this is based on my knowledge of myself,
not an opinion of you) is that the temptation to turn the
pot over to work on it is avoided. ;)

lol....Thanks Trapper. I will be keeping them upright when doing this. I did have the concern though that the vibration of the drill may upset the plant. ??? I'm going to do the screwdriver twist thing first and see how that goes. I'll have my wife hold them up for me so I can get underneath them to do the bottoms.

Thanks for the help guys!

Hey Bear. My medium is FoxFarm Happy Frog. The are draining but taking up to a week or more to dry out. Last night I drilled more holes in them. I'm pretty happy with the results. We'll see how it goes. I am NOT going to attempt a transplant as they are starting to take off.

Thanks.
