DIY DIY HiFi audio player

ey!
Welcome aboard Ksj!!
It certainly is an awesome widget!!
Can't wait 'till the parts get here. Next week I have decided to order the rest including a new RPi2. W00t!!

Quick update.
Just received notice that the parts I ordered last week shipped. Should be here in a week or so. Schweet!

Another update!
Haven't forgot about us here!!
This is the hardest part of ordering from China!! Waiting!! I come home every day now and rush over to the mailbox in anticipation!!
Soon, folks, soon.

Still waiting..................

Well!
This is very disappointing!!
It's been way to long and I have yet to receive a response from the seller either. I am going to look for another place to get the things I need for this. Hopefully it won't be to long. This is a cool widget that I use almost daily to listen to tunes with and I am sure you will like to build and use one too.

I can assure you it's worth the wait.
I have the pifi dac v2 (ordered after reading this thread :) (prop.. a china copy) no "gold" rca and the pcb is black not blue. anyways i had the opportunity to test the known SABRE 9023. and in my opinion the PCM5122 burr brown on the the pifi dac is worth every penny.
Tested on rpi2 with openelec (kodi)fostex active studio monitors and my old studio monitors dynaudio bm5 amped with samson servo 550. Ridicules how great it sounds for that kind of money.
amazing truly amazing.

Thanks man.
I am a fan of the 9023, have been for a while. I have several iterations of DAC with that chip. I currently use a 9023 dac on a RPi B+ with Rune for the system. Rune is an MDP fork on Arch linux as an embedded solution. It's connected to a DCB1 ( DC Coupled B1 Buffer, the B1 being a Nelson Pass design), that is in turn connected to a Parasound amp and NHT 2.5i speakers. Love using it, I generally use Plex on an iPad using AirPlay. It does sound great but I truly love how easy it is to use and control.
Not giving up! Going to find a different vendor for the bits I need. If I find the right bits I can show anyone how to make this great player, no soldering, just a bit of putting things together and a bit of computer and networking and viola! A great player!!

OK then, I just found one on eBay that I liked the look of, let's hop it sounds as good as it looks!
I ordered it and expect to see it in a few weeks.

Got a reply from other vendor. I have to wait until 11/18 before I can get a refund or replacement. Glad I ordered another one from someplace else!!
