Well…Just getting set up for my 1st grow, received my Kind XL600 via UPS and…..
one side is mashed in right out the box and a couple of cracks on the LED.

I’m no expert, but based on the box it was shipped in.. I don’t think this happened during shipping. Not really sure.

Needless to say, I’m pretty disappointed. Not really sure what to think of Kind right now. Considering just asking for a refund and going elsewhere??

There are SOOOO many to choose from it makes my head spin. I’m on somewhat of a budget. $500-$600 for approx. a 3’x4’ closet space. I was looking at the Mars FC-E 4800 and a few others before going with the Kind.

Any recommendations??

Take photos of the damaged box, the damaged LED and send an email to the retailer to tell them that you're not happy with the condition that the product arrived with you in.

Ask them for a replacement and to cover the postage cost of the faulty broken unit being sent back to them.

If you're not satisfied with their response, advise them that you will be posting your experiences (Along with photographic evidence) on social media platforms and related forums.

See how they get on with that to start off.

Hope this helps

I used a KIND xl300 for my cab grow and am now using a Mars FC3000 for by 2x2.5 tent. Just dropped an AvT for a test run so I really don't have an evaluation of the FC3000 but I like what I see so far. Seems like a good value.

Being able to mount the ballast remotely can be significant if you have heat issues. HTH, IMHO, YMMV, etc.

EDIT: I have had excellent CS with Kind/SuperCloset/Gorilla and expect that you would too.

Trying to grow 4 healthy, abundant plants MWilliams. After talking and reading, not sure the XL600 is big enough for that?

Already contacted Kind, Blue. Took some pics and submitted the paperwork. They seem to be willing to work with me thus far. Just not sure if I wanna try to back out now while I can? Not a good first impression on the light itself. Customer service seems fine… so far.

Don't know but after looking at the PAR map on that model it may be a bit too small for 4 plants.

You have consumere rights - depending on the country you're in, you may need to google what they are. I'd try a search like "consumer rights electrical goods" and then your country.

Here's the UK version, and there's a button to help guide you through the letter process.

You should be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.

I don't know the light, so can't comment on it's abilities.

I'd get a refund and choose another company myself. We had Kind LED on the forum at one point; and honestly they will never be invited back here again. They don't seem to be on the same page as far as lighting tech goes compared to the trends most other companies have gone to, their lights are overpriced (IMO), and they don't seem to like to actually rep their products (great at advertising them though.)

I’ve emailed them and asked for a refund. Hopefully they don’t give me the run around. Just never had a warm and fuzzy about this light. Back to the drawing board. Everyone is still tight lipped on opinions for an alternative. Thoughts on the Mars FC-E 4800? Or would the FC-E 3000 make more sense for a 4x4ish space, Is there much difference between the FC and FC-E models other than the type of diodes?
