Guys I have been wondering what is the difference between direct seeding in the pot you want to grow in and the other ways , I direct seed and have very little problem with seeds sprouting , so is there a advantage by sprouting the seed first then potting ?

Direct seeding in a pot may kill the seedling by over or under watering.
Soaking in a paper towel tends to fix the problem above but there is danger of damaging the tap root, when transplanting.

Both ways are fine and only become a problem due to human error.

method for method imho there is no advantage(only cons to doing it that way imo)to germing them in a paper towel or whichever to straight to soil ,although I would agree with soaking for a minimum of 12-18 hours to soften the seed up some and not waiting for a real tap root, cuz imho thats where like the paper towel method you can too damage the tap root with the soaking method too.but i almost never get a tap root when soaking 18 hours or so then right to a quality seedling mix and have have seeds up several times as fast as two days after wetting it into the soil with an 18 hour soak.

thats my 2 cents bro hope its useful.:Sharing One:
