Dinafem Dinamex Auto -- California Roots

Wow, never have I had such anticipation and high hopes for a grow and never have I had such disappointment (I find those two often go hand and hand). After not seeing any action after putting this last seed in soil, I decided to root around a little and found the little lady still with her helmet on and the root tip cut/eaten/chewed almost clean through. I think this is what happened to the first on also since the tip of that one was flat and not a grwoing tip as usual.

I suspect fungus gnats since I have some in the growing space. I've never worried about them before because they have never caused any problems, but now I plan to get some neem seed meal and add that to my mix. I've read really good things about it but haven't been able to source it where I am so I have to have family send me some from the US.

On the up side though, I was planning to do a fem seed run with these so I had another that had been started in like a half gallon pot about three weeks ago. I was planning to reverse her with colloidal silver but since I have no female to pollenate, I'll save that for another day. I've transplanted that lady into the 45L pot. I'll get some pics up of her in a bit.

Here are some pics of the girl that got transplanted into the 45L yesterday. There's a gap of about a week or so.

I'm a sucker for hot soil, so I'm in for the ride :) Best to you, officinalis!

lookin good there man, gonna follow this for sure.
Stick it to them gnats as they can get quite problematic for you roots if the population of larvae get big enough.
Sticky traps near soil level is good as they like to stroll around nonchalantly rather than flying unless they really have to.
Hope the neem seed meal arrives soon.
