Here is the whole plant at Day 80:

The published spec. on completion is 65 days, so she is almost 20 days overdue, but she is still throwing new pistils. The published spec may be a bit low for large fabric pots and autopots, so being at least somewhat overdue is likely normal.

What I think I see is:

  • Most trichs are cloudy, virtually all on sugar leaves are cloudy, and the majority or better on the calyxes are cloudy. Calyxes still have >20% clear to my eye.
  • A bit of apparent ambering seems to be started on fans and sugar leaves, but little or none on calyxes.
  • The size of the colas seems to have been stable for a week or more now. As far as I can tell they are not getting noticeable fatter any more but, I can't guarantee it.
On balance, I am inclined to hang in there a bit longer, but I am listening... :pop:

From what you said I’d wait until all cloudy and more amber.

plants look great.

My understanding of CBD is all cloudy gives maximum efficacy and waiting to get much Amber considerably degrades the CBD.

Me too. When to consider that accomplished is the question. I have everything from all cloudy and some amber on fans and sugar leaves, to mostly cloudy and some clear on some calyxes, and to new pistils and lots of clear on a few calyxes. I assume that trichs on calyxes are the highest priority, which is why I am inclined to wait just a bit longer.

Of course, the other issue with this strain is that the purple color of many trichs does not help interpret things.

Thanks for chiming in @BCBudlady, I appreciate it. :pighug:

colourfull plants can sometimes make the trichs look different colours.looking at plants in my cupboard seem further on,than if i take em out and look under natural light.
im fond of an early chop, but thats personal opinion, mine not yours so irrelivent.
fat buds and bulbous trich heads  so you aint chopping too soon :greenthumb:
so anywhere between now and a week or so

Between now and a week or so is where my head is at for now.

I'll be keeping a close eye on her.

My bushy Northern Lights is not far behind.

Thanks @archie space gemmill.

Seems we are on the same page then. Beautiful plant. I really like a little DMK rolled up with a bit of highTHC flower.

We are on the same page there too. Mixing the bud rather than the genetics provides more options.

A good part of the DMK is destined for coconut oil extract for making salve for my dearest. I think I'll have enough for both.

Thanks again for jumping in. :pighug:
