Oh thank the lord the site is back...I have been in withdrawal!
Hi Guys (and Gals!) I would someday love to participate in a solo cup challenge. I just have no idea "how".
I know that sounds dumb, but could some of you give me some pointers how its done? I start my babies in cups and then always transplant into my autopots and they are on auto pilot for most of the grow. Do you have to water multiple times a day? Do you use a drip system? How do you stabilize your cups?... I dont want anyone to reveal their Ancient Secrets....but can someone help a mom out?

:thanks:
I've gotten away with a single watering/feed a day but the more times u feed the better it's mostly about making sure all ur medium is fully saturated which the more root the longer it takes for water to drain as far as needing to stabilize the cup cut a hole in a dish pan 14 liter or 18 liter drill holes in bottom and slide cup in big hole then tie branches to drilled holes lots of other ways but solo cups arnt to hard just don't expect any weight with out a bunch of work and feedings but they are fun and great if u want to make seeds reg or fems. Don't be afraid to just try random things I have and have found out alot of cool things like hawian punch jugs are great planters for my space I also found those same dish pans work great as planters especially for 2x4 or any rectangular grow space, like they say one an trash is another's treasure

I have never grown them in Solo cups start to finish either. I think they will need multiple waterings per day when they are older but I have no clue how many. They’ll be root bound at some point so I would think drainage will be important, other than that I have no clue!

Hi! I would think that removing the plant and root trimming would be another thing that would have to be done....
Massmom :toke: I would say read through this thread. and it will help you. BTW born and raised in Boston.

Thank you Fitzy :pass:

I think I may just stick with my autopots for now, but a solo cup challenge has always been in the back of my mind...hmmmmmm.....

That's wat I was getting at I mean it seems difficult but it's not that bad of course things can go wrong but it not much different from other grows I've always used very small cups for seeing if I wanted to grow way ever strain like back in the day u didn't want to grow somthin you weren't sure of quality etc that's why I still do it bc some breeders say it's medium size and really it's a big tree or it's some tiny thing also helps select phenotypes for photos to find mom's

Yeah. I keep finding myself saying "it's a damn weed. LOL tough as nails to kill or just get rid of, unless you pull it out with every single root or it will come back" i don't hate weeds as much now :crying:

Is the competition still open or have the contestants been picked already? If not I'd like to throw my name in the hat!
Do you have or can you get some Dinafem Auto Cookies? That is what is required to be in the contest besides Solo Cup.

@Mossy @Ripper @Dinafem-Mark , @Rebel has her own seeds and wants in on the competition. The teams are evenly split at the moment so I would propose that she becomes the first alternate and takes the place of the first drop-out or if another entrant steps up then they will be chosen for a team. What say you.
