Yeah cheers mate that's what I thought, it doesn't make sense  but I don't wanna rock the boat so if there is any doubts I think I'd be better off going with what most growers are using, the red un's, just thought it'd b cool to see the roots grow :pass:
My bad, I thought Solo's were not available over there.... So if you can get Solo's stay with that for sure,.... like Smokin' said roots HATE light! :nono:
... in fact, I plan on doubling up the cup for durability's sake, that material is very prone to splitting and tearing if damaged just right,...

Sticking to my choice bro! You don’t need fortes to kick our asses.

Besides, I read the rules and it’s “who chose first” that wins. Anyone who chooses you next won’t count as a winner. I picked mine and I believe in my horse lol
:muahaha:..laying the psychological groundwork for shock and awe,....:pimp: :haha:

You can definitely grow in clear cups it's just alge will start to grow and from way I understand that were the problem is roots don't enjoy light but to a certain degree deal with it I've found this out using hawian punch 1gal jugs to grow from they work great but the green color plastic like Mr dew keep the label on and it blocks well enuff . maybe try just putting it in a beer coozy lol

What happened?
In the uk/europe we dont use solo cups and we dont measure in fl oz.
His pack said 1 pint which = 20 fl oz

But they are available to us through ebay etc.

@The Mugwamp that labeling was a mess 280ml or half a pint would be doing yourself out of a lot of root space.

1 imperial pint = 568ml
1/2 imperial pint = 284ml

16oz solo cup = 455ml
18oz solo cup = 510ml

Let’s just get the cup size set once and for all?

If solo cups are meant to restrict roots and give us a tough time, then let’s just decide on 16oz aka 455ml cups. My 2 cents....

Then we can move away from this subject and you guys can start teaching us newbies how to really grow in solo cups.

 I should have put that in clearer terms, less cheeky! ... Roots "hate" light, in that they seek to avoid it strongly, not because they will be physically damaged by it in a translucent container,... sure, direct Sun will fry them, but so does air... Light coming in from the sides can promote algae growth, which is mucky clogging stuff, and competes for nutrients, water and O2.....
........glad you can get them nonetheless mate!
