Did I get seeds?

I have this 11 week old White Widow from unnamed bulk seedbank I got for free. It is small, but has huge flowers. I was watering it today and saw something that looked like a seed. Carefully inspecting all of the buds I found one more place with a seed. So totally 2 seeds. Does it make any sense at all? It was growing alone in a tent, on a 16th+ floor. Yes, I had windows open all the time. Could it get pollinated from wind? If so, why just 2 seeds?

Definitely a seed. Pics under normal lighting is easier to see issues with, but that's a seed.

If you've just had the one plant, then it hermed. Hermaphrodites are an unwanted genetic trait. Many of the big photo strains can be herm prone. Bringing them to auto, and the bad comes with the good.

Ripe seeds take about 6 weeks, so they've been there a bit. Gotta keep an eye out for that oddball male sack, or set of nanners!. The smoke should still be fair. Personally I would dump the seeds.

Could be from stress. Buds seem to be fox tailing which is another sign of stress. Just food for thought

Stable genetics won't herm due to stress. If the gene isn't there, it isn't there. So if stress caused it, it had the gene.

So light leaks can't be the sole cause of herms? The first line of the post says they're from a bulk seed bank. Don't know how stable they are/aren't

I might have had some light leaks, I've been keeping lights on from 8 PM till 4 PM because of terrible heat issues. We had +30 C outside almost all of last few months, so it was often 30+ inside the tent. So a lot of stress actually. Also I transplanted it from 2L to 15L on its 2nd week.

I'll definitely going to dump the seeds, or maybe just throw them into some dirt outside next spring.

Nope. If the gene is not in the plant, (speaking photo here) it might grow odd, try and re-veg, or flower poorly, but you won't toss a sack. Autos, they'll just flower. No matter the lights. Less light smaller and lower quality flowers, more, the opposite. One of the reasons you'll see many saying genetics are one of your biggest choices, and expenses. Many times when running a new gear (especially when the crop is necessary...), I want to know who the parents were, and their lineage, and do some family tree stuff looking for issues.
It is unfortunate, I believe this is something we did to ourselves early on when info was not as available, and freely shared... it was a fast way to femmed seeds, now it's fairly prevalent in photos.

@Arthur great information to learn. Thanks for the explanation. Is it possible for all plants to have this gene, just in a recessive state? Kind of like recessive genes in humans?

The high temps would be my thought as to the foxtailing.
If the seed looks ripe, dark brown, if stress induced, it happened about week 4 or 5. The gene doesn't necessarily present, sometimes it requires something to set it off. This is where the light leak/stress thing comes from.
Or, I've had a couple that just tossed a sack, no stresses.

I've got a very stable photo strain that I can run in my backyard without issues. 2 streetlights, cars up and down the street all night, never a problem with her. Others fail miserably in the same position.

That makes sense because obviously there's moonlight outside that is quite intense as well. Thanks for the info
