New Grower Derty's First Grow

About 40cm from 250w mh, range from 28-36celcius, humidity quite low under 35 usually. They're spots through the middle and I did feed them 1/4 strength nutes. Can I save them? I've put them in darkness after running 24/7

Maybe run the lights 20/4 with the 4 hours of darkness being during the hot part of the day. 36C (96F) is too hot. These plants like 23C-30C (75F-85F). Anyway to exhaust some of the heat? You'll need an exhaust and filter later on unless you do not worry about the smell. The smell will usually start after the first month and it will fill up your place. One day you will walk in and think "what is that smell?".
Edit: Also maybe use compact fluorescent lights this first month. You want the 2700K lights for the vegetative growth. For three plants I would start with 3 40W CFL's.

Alright I'll try that, cheers, should I flush them?

Is the soil dry at the end of your finger when you stick it in up to the first knuckle? (Towards the middle of the pot). I wouldn't flush them unless the soil was dry.

Thanks bro, I feel like giving up on them but I cant just yet. Its another 3 week wait for seeds.

After tinkering a bit, I realized the fan wasn't really hitting the seedlings so i changed the layout a bit and now have 25*c and 40% humidity and they look happier.

Sorry for double post.

I've decided to order some more seeds and go with soil next time. The seedlings are still alive albeit tiny but I'm going to let them go until they cant no more. I got ahead of my self and over watered the shit out of them, the coco is still really damp, so I'm letting them dry, I think this is why they aren't growing. I transplanted the worst looking seedling into one of the other original 3 fails germination pots with dryer coco, so I will see how it goes. I've got some pencil holes to help dry the coco and a better air system so its constantly at 25celcius and about 40RH which im happy with.

Would something like this be okay, http://www.bunnings.com.au/brunnings-25l-tomato-vegetable-growing-mix_p2960225 for my new grow?

So I got completely ahead of myself and wasted a decent amount of money on this failure. I spent last 2 weeks doing alot more research and reading and I'm embarrassed about this thread. I've got new seeds and a better room setup and I'm a whole lot more confident after coming back to reality and starting from complete beginner. Thanks for the help guys, wish you had told me i was being a moron.

It's all good man, your not being a moron at all, it's your first grow! If you comb through the journals you'll see loads of people make mistakes their first grow, and I mean loads. Trust me, that could be a blessing in diguise, I garantee you'll learn from it, figure out what to do different and grow a nice yeild next time. I'll be looking out for your next grow journal.
