Greetings, Cannalovers!

Here goes new grow in my tiny growbox. This time im going to use all techniques i used before, but feed will be with mainly branded mineral nutes, bacteria and fungi will be there only for protection. At last switched to RO water, as tap water at my place has became totaly unusable with it's almost 450ppm. Now it is a bit different on feed, but so far i like it and seems like i'll manage to work with that. Nvm, main thing in this cycle will be my custom IR 730nm led chip dd on. It will be used alone only for 15 minutes each day after main lights is switched off. In nature, sunset is doing that and this way plants go to sleep. So in theory and judging by some people experience they share here or there on the internet, one may prolong flowering photo cannabis day to 15 hours without freaking it out, going reveg or hermie. So i have decided to give it a try, just for sake of another experiment. Hoping you will enjoy reading this and wish me luck!

So, let's go!
This time it's Delahaze fem from Paradise seeds.

First LST, tied nodes to make more space between them.

And what is that growing over here? I will let it grow more just to see what it is, but eventually will cut that off, i think.
14b.jpg

In few days will do first defol. This will be a long veg, minimum another 2-3 weeks to go. Judging by speed she grows, that will be one massive plant in that tiny box.
Thank you for reading and welcome to my diary!

And here goes day 27 for this plant. It is pretty healthy this time because of "right" feed without experimenting :D Another thing - i have made new DIY res chiller with 60W Peltier, it managed to lower tea temps on couple of degrees so far. Need to insulate tubings and shit, it will allow at least another degree of C' to drop. Now tea is not warmer than 23'C at peak of temps in the box (that is about 29'C in peak). Plant seems to be happy with that, as it is happy with RO water :D I do not know how i did not used RO before, that is the real salvation...
SO, in period of time that passed from beginning of this grow diary, i have managed to learn feeding with RO, also made 2 defols and lots of training. What i got - is one bushy plant, which is going to flower in next 10 days, right after recovering of last defol. That will be one beautiful plant :)
And here goes info about process

27.07 day 015 veg 15
Tea still too strong.
Replaced 1l tea with 1l RO
Tea pH was 6.0 6.3, 680ppm
T' 27'C / tea 24'C
15.jpg

These are additional 2 branches growing out of place they did not supposed to be growing :) Will leave these, will see what will grow out of them :)

Some first forming LST

15b.jpg

31.07 day 019 veg 19
Tea was ideal, no changes at all
Tea pH 6.3, 680ppm
T' 27'C / tea 24'C
FIrst defoliation was done.
Changed to new res - now it holds 15 litres of nutes. Insulated box with extremely sticky car sound / thermo insulation. Few small upgrades are still needed, but even now i feel the difference on these additional 5.5litres of tea. Also new thing - internal biofilter was introduced to catch nematodes, Nitrogen fixating bacteria and other stuff. That will help to maintain cleaner tank.

Here goes plant after defol.

19a.jpg
19b.jpg

01.08 day 20 veg 20
After defol, pH has started to fall rapidly, in 2 days it felt to 5.8.
EC rised to 720, that was the cause
Added 0.5l of RO water and rised pH to 6.2
T' 27'C / tea 24'C

20.jpg

02.08 day 21 veg 21
PH is again 5.8, so i removed apprx. 2l of tea and added apprx. 2l of RO water.
Rised pH to 6.2 again
Now tea is 630ppm
After defol this seems to happen, i think that it's plant switching to slightly different feed schedule after stressing. There will be more defols, will see if that is really working this way.

21.jpg

03.08 day 22 veg 22
Seems like that was it! Ph is stable 6.2, ppm is 630
Gave 2 tablets of vitamin B complex.

22.JPG

04.08 day 24 veg 24
Shower with Plagron Vita race 0.5ml + GHE Bioworm 3ml + 100ml RO before night

24.jpg
24a.jpg

05.08 day 25 veg 25
PH rised to 6.6, after adding 10ml of TNC CalMag it went to 6.3
EC was 528ppm, after adding TNC CalMag it went to ppm 700
Added apprx. 1.5l of older tea, which was removed from tank earlier.

25.jpg

75.08 day 27 veg 27
PH PH rised to 6.6
EC has dropped to 670
Will leave PH and EC like it is, in case if after defol it will go down (it should).
Major defoliation was done. That is last defol in veg.
Why that leaf tip is burnt - i do not know, but that is single case on whole plant, so i think that is just random shit - maybe it was effected by tea, ot smth else, dunno.

27.jpg

Just after defol. Plant has super nice structure now. Will ler it recover well from this - i think it will be in 7-10 days, and switch it to flower.

27a.JPG

And that is my updated DWC tank. Getting more and more complex, and more and more hard to pull out of grow box....

Later :)

Subbing, I'm a soil guy but thought hydro likes PH at 5.5, soil at 6.5. Can I ask why your shooting for soil PH in DWC? Healthy looking plant so its not much of a concern. DWC grows fast I might have to look into one too.

Cheers

That is mainly because of micro organisms i let to live there. In mineral DWC ideal pH's are 6.2 in veg and 5.8 in flower. But when you use wide variety of bacillas, fungi and trichoderma - pH can float to "higher" side, plant is OK with that, you can see it your self. I am almost not using any of pH regulating solutions, doing that in extremely rare cases. All other time i can control it with adding some nutes i think should be needed in exact moment, more bacteria or simply water. That is bright side of going with bio in DWC, thanks to Grim for that!
Ofcourse, in flowering it may go not so easy as now, but we will see.

No, they look great. Which prompted me to ask. Great answer.

At last i find a way to use Plenty vaporizer which i bought a bit earlier. Could not use it because it had a big chamber (hence it's name) and awful steel spring which ate half of oils... Now STorz & Bickel made a chamber reducers and i did found that Arizer Solo's long straw is a perfect fit to this all :D
So here goes nice 100W heating chamber, damn it is now good and very economic! Im using doses 0.1 -0.2g with it now and every time i get smashed :D
Thought maybe someone has Plenty too and this could be useful :)

Subbed up and along for the fun, love your grows bro.

I can see that Plenty vape working well with a small bong bro, the water cooling really brings out more flavour,it also filters the small particles out.

You are most welcome guys and im glad that my experience is interesting to you.

Just small update:
Yesterday in evening pH has grown to 6.7 so i added some base NPK nutes, some branded humatic tea witch coal in it and some potassium / silica. PH dropped to 6.1 and after whole day did not moved nowhere. Damn i like that RO, it IS the key, it is totally stable and lets control everything!
But that is not a main thing i wanted to show.

What i wanted to show - is a energizing coctail i found out and started to use recently. Plant is going crazy of it and i really recommend to try this out, it is totally natural and safe. It contains of amino acid coctail with some N, Cal, Mg, S, That is a bomb, man!
Here goes my plant before night yesterday and after 13 hours. Do you see a difference?
I used TNC CalMag (any product of this type will do) and Terra Foliar sorb. Terra is nothing else, but organic amino acid solution, bought in local flora shop here. It contains 9.3% of amino acids, organic N 2.1%, B 0.019%, Mn 0.046% and Zn 0.067. Key thing in this is amino acids, as they react to calcium by chalating it and making it available to fast usage by plant. This is most effective foliar feed i found so far after trying pile of various branded foliar nutes.
That was a relief ater defol, wasn't it? :D
