I was just wondering if anyone has tried this method with autos of pinching off fan leaves to remove shading for bud production and also to stimulate new branch growth.

Now I would rather not get into a pissing match about it I know some are passionate about not touching a leaf that nature put there but we are already manipulating the plant indoors with artificial lights and shaping plants with stress and ferts so this is not really Gods creation anymore.

I am just wondering if anyone here has tried this on autos I have done some reading on this and seen some very promising results using Photos guys are getting 10-14 zips per plant huge harvest in a small 32"X32"plants sounds perfect for a small closet grow to fit more plants and produce more bud.

Not so much for outdoors grows since space is not an issue as much.

I have experimented a bit myself and IMO I can see where this could be a great thing and am trying it now on three plants they are my first autos so was curious to see what would happen.

Again I know in theory leaves are there for a reason I just want to hear from actual people that have tried to grow using this method and what were the results as far as harvest a comparison would be great.

Thanks !

Hey fella... personally i defoliate a little often..sometimes bending leaves out of the way just don't work they keep springing back up and covering bud sites, i've had no problems doing this with autos...i'm of the belief that weed plants grow much more leaf than they really need as a defence against predators. I've got a few grows on here and all plants were defoliated, check 'em out if you have the time. Easy

Autos are a bit different. I want all the plants energy to go into veg growth. I dont even turn my plants. Sometimes in flower, but never in veg. I have tried to defoliate and trim autos, but they have always gotten stunted and it sets em back a week or two, trying to recover. Photos are different, where as you defoliate the lowers due to light and making all the energy go to the top 1/3 of the plant to flower. I have no right or wrong way to tell you how to grow in your garden, so all I can say on the matter is, you are trying different things, so let us know what your conclusions are. I am open for what you come up with!! happy growing and let us know.

That is the one thing I love about growing and smoking, each garden is different each strain reacts differently with each user and what I do in my grow space might not work for you and vice versa!! Either way, grow it out, show it off, and someone might learn something!!!

Thanks I hope I can can get half of either you two guys yield :)

I'm going to do it when they stop stretching once i know where the bud sites are & which are going to be covered, if any. So far it won't be a lot as these fast & vast seem to grow their own even canopy!

I will probably do it over 1 week & take a few leaves per plant every couple of days to avoid too much stress.

fire away guys, I'll leave mine alone. Just a side note, when the plant goes into flower, she will kill off some lower fans and foliage to make more energy for budding. they do it all on their own!!

If anyone has another way to get 10-14 ozs of one 32"X32" plant I am all ears please post photos .

Perhaps it can be done with auto's why I was asking

Here s another thread with the guy explaining it in much more detail you will need about a month to read it all. :)
sounds legit to me.
